General Engineering Question

So, I just had a question about General Engineering that is probably a little dumb, but I just wanted to verify. How something was worded threw me off a little and wanted some clarification. So it said to be eligible you had to come and “Present no more than 6 transfer credits appropriate to the engineering freshman program (for example: no more than 6 credits of AP exams, I.B. Higher Level results, transfer credits from other universities, etc.).”

And it sounded like if you did submit more than 6 that they would drop you like it’s hot. “If it is determined during the review of your file that you are not eligible for the General Engineering option, this application choice will be cancelled without further communication.”

Now, I already accepted the offer of admission to Gen Eng but haven’t submitted AP scores yet. I have taken more than 6 credits worth (Including: Calc AB, Biology, Micro & Macro Economics, Spanish Language, US History, & Lang & Comp) and although I’m sure most of these won’t even exempt me from any Engineering credits I don’t know if I should submit my scores.

So should I just not submit any scores besides Calc for risk of being dropped? Or am I just being a tweak and should I submit them all regardless? I don’t feel like they’d drop me over it or anything, I’d imagine most people that apply to Gen Eng have a lot of credits, but I was jw.

I applied to general engineering last year with approximately 45 transfer credits from another university and they emailed me back later telling me that I would have to switch from general engineering to another major. So I did, and I was accepted. You should send as many possible transfer credits as possible, and you may want to send them an email or something letting them know that you realize that you are not eligible for general engineering and ask to switch into another major.

Thanks a million man, hope your advice works out! It’d be really lame if they were just like, you’re dumb now you don’t get in at all. I’d probably cry haha =P

Haha yeah. Good luck!

Turns out I couldn’t transfer from General to any other engineering department, if you want to switch you have to do it before the regular deadline regardless of when you get accepted. It’s no problem though I’m just going to go into General Engineering submitting only 6 AP credits.
