General questions about UVA regarding CS

Is there a difference between a comp sci major in the engineering department and the college of sciences and arts?
do employers care which college in university you go to?
is it possible to study a major in a nonmajor school? studying math in school of journalism

There is a section on the CS department website that goes over this! (BTW, we have a School of Engineering with many undergraduate majors in different areas of engineering, it’s not just a department.)

Uva places surprisingly well, with access to the MD/Nova/DC complex, so regardless of degree option you’ll be well served by your degree.
BA v. BS will mean a broader set of gen eds (which can be met with AP credit for some) v. a core set of classes in STEM. For the BA the thesis is optional, for the BS it’s mandatory.
