Generic, but... What are my chances?!

Hey everyone, it’s almost time for me to take my SAT’s and then apply for Universities. Anyways, here are some basic stats about me (not bragging in any way), and I was wondering if these are okay for the Universities I want to apply for.

Universities I’d Like to apply at:
Mcgill University
University of California Los Angles
University of Boston University
University of Florida
John Hopkins University

GPA:
3.2 - 3.5 GPA… Lets be technical, I live in canada and an 80 is an A, so that’s it, I also was lazy in grade 9 and early grade 10, but I am shaping up now (started in the last semester of grade 10 and still going strong)… Also, after grade 12, if my grades continue I should have a 3.60-3.70GPA :p.

Sports:
-Junior Varsity Basketball (Grade 9)
-Junior Varsity Volleyball (Grade 9)
-Junior Varsity Mixed Doubles Badminton (Grade 9)
-Junior Varsity Cross Country (Grade 9)
-Junior Varsity Track and Field (Grade 9, 3rd in my province for 3000m race).
-Varsity Boys Cross Country.
-Varsity Boys Indoor Track and Field (during winter).
-Varsity Boys Track and Field (outdoor).

Other Facts:
-Hospital Volunteer
-Going for School president (will most likely win with lack of enthusiasm from others to run, over 900 kid school… we had 2 kids run last year).

  • I want to be an anesthesiologist when I grow up.
-I am good at writing essays(I am just adding this if someone says If I have a strong essay I can make a school).
  • I am Muslim(don’t know if that matters).

I do plan on getting a high SAT mark also (only time will tell though) on mock tests I get a rough 2100-2200.

So do you think I can make these Universities, and do you have any Universities you’d like to recommend for someone with a dream of being an anesthesiologist(I know undergrad isn’t really going to make me one but I do believe a good school helps show my smarts)? Thanks for feedback everyone!

Are you of the Québécois ? That would help at McGill, what school are you applying to at McGill? I cannot find it but McGill actually issues an elaborate index of minimum GPA’s/average GPA’s for different departments at the school, try googling it.

The others may be a stretch because you are an international student, BU is probably the closest match of the bunch.

Do you know your weighted gpa?

Mcgill University - idk this one
University of California Los Angles - High reach/reach (OOS)
University of Boston University - slight reach/high match
University of Florida- idk this one
John Hopkins University- High reach

Gl.

Canadian, not Quebec though.

My Weighted GPA is 3.46
Unweighted GPA 3.46, Have not taken any AP yet, school only offers those in Twelfth Grade.

So you’re not even a senior yet?

No I am not. But I do believe I need to be getting ready to apply, I mean choosing Universities last minute sounds pretty stupid to me.

I know but it is difficult to chance if someone has not completed their junior year yet, technically you are just halfway done with high school right now.

However, glad to see that you’re getting a headstart

Alright thanks!

Anyways, if people want they can recommenced other Universities/colleges that they might think I can get into! It would be nice to see! Thanks.
