Geometry v. Speech and Debate

I’m going to this summer program and I have the option to take two classes. I’m already taking French and Speech and Debate, but I’m considering changing Speech and Debate to Geometry so I could start Algebra II in the fall. I’m in 8th grade and in algebra 1 right now and I don’t like it at all. Should I just stick with speech and debate or should I take geometry so I can get ahead?

Are you very passionate about speech and debate? From what I know about you Jon, I’d say yes. Therefore, take Speech and Debate. You should excel in the area that you are most passionate about.

If I’m wrong, just consider this post a bump. :D

I’ve never formally participated in speech and debate because my school doesn’t offer it. I like to debate for fun, though. :)

There’s no need to take geometry over the summer. You’re on the same track I’m on, and you’ll get to Calc by senior year if your school offers a Alg 2 Trig course (do they?). Take speech and debate.

Yeah, the sequence for me would be Geometry – Algebra II – Analysis Accelerated (pretty much pre-calc/trig.) – AP Calc AB

you dont like algebra 1? you should get used to it, its a large component of geometry, precalc(to a larger extent) and even calculus.

I would do speech/debate. You probably don’t like math that much if you didn’t like algebra and it would make your summer miserable.

I would go with Speech and Debate

I love it :D

Can’t stand math… but somehow I finished pre-calc in 9th grade XD

But I would say do what you think would be the most fun. Summer is a time to relax ;)
