Georgetown 2015 Fall Transfer Thread

Mine was ready in about a week. Check your my access site (don’t have to have put down deposit yet) @decided900

@decided900 I got my financial aid package within like 2 weeks of my acceptance so just be patient

I applied to the SFS, and I haven’t received any news yet… Seems like a small envelope is on the way then.

@transferfox123 i am also still waiting and losing hope… gtown has now gone 7 business days with no letters

The 3rd big wave of acceptances will hit for you guys this week… I can feel it! Trust me they are not done.

when are we thinking - tomorrow? thursday? i can’t believe the rejections are coming out in 2 weeks

so the rejections only come out at the end, but acceptances/waitlists still come out at the end too?

@cckittycat uhh last year waitlist notifications came out on the 30th and rejections on June 1. I don’t think there were any acceptances after like… May 26. I could be wrong though

oooh i see. thanks! @Luthsn

Think about it, why would they wait to post the rejections? Just to fuck with people? You guys are over thinking it, they release both acceptances and rejections in waves. CC is a very small sample size, and most people don’t jump at the chance to tell you they got rejected. Just wait.

Does GU have an email I can email documents to? i want to send my final transcript this semester, because it’s all A’s and that will help me, but if its mailed it will take about a week to get there and I want them to use it in my decision.

@sikcjor lol i think you’re over thinking our q&a, not the other way around

i don’t know of an email that GU uses for application materials, but they have a fax number that you could possibly send stuff to last minute - pre-march 1, an admissions rep said they didn’t want stuff being sent via fax “because of the possibility of it getting lost” thus the snail mail policy - i would call in and check to ask about the options available to you

shit I have all A’s too tell me how you send it if you do

here is the email I’ve used over the last two years. Everything I’ve submitted has gotten into my file. You’ll get an automatic message, but they still read it and put it in.

transferadmissions@georgetown.edu

Also @sikcjor , they typically don’t hand out rejections until the very end. I did this last year as well, so I know the process. There are waves of acceptances.

So they don’t give out acceptances on the last days of may?

He literally just answered that question

Yeah, hard to believe though…

t-2 hours until emails if they are shooting some out today

I emailed the SFS admissions director about expediting my decision since one school I got into needs a deposit by June 1st and I leave for vacation (I’ll be out of the country for some of it) and I won’t return until June 1st. Basically what they told me is that I (at best) will be on the waitlist. At this point I feel as though they have sent out acceptances to their top choices and are now looking to see who is denied and/or wait listed. I know this isn’t what most of you want to hear and I might be wrong, but best of luck everyone!

FYI they’re only accepting approximately 11% of applicants from a pool of 2,100, so don’t be too bummed out. This was definitely a very competitive year for transfers!

You’re right about one thing, that isn’t what I wanted to hear.

We’ll see is all I have to say.

Tonight is the last night I think we’ll likely hear any good news.

So, let’s just wait and see.

Cheers.
