so i got deferred ea, and i only submitted sat scores, but i took act in december and my act was the highest out of all my sat/act scores (when i converted new sat to act)…HOWEVER, i told on my app that i wasn’t planning to take the dec act (because, as of nov 1st, i wasnt). will georgetown think this is sketchy when i send them my act?? also, should i let georgetown know they’re still my #1 school?? if so how…
I think you have two good reasons to contact your admissions rep now. Once to tell him/her that you ended up taking the Dec. ACT after all and you are happy to report your highest score (which you will have already sent to them), and then you can also use the communication as a way to let them know they are still top on your list. None of that can hurt. Did you send subject tests already?
Hi! Is there an additional info section in the Georgetown app like the Common App? I want to elaborate on one of my EC’s and I already wrote about a different one for the EC essay, but idk where to write it? It’s the crown jewel of my application so I really want to provide as much info as possible.
Also, I noticed that there isn’t anywhere to report test scores?? Do we just list the dates and then send our reports??
@kbn2015 I don’t think there is any other place to elaborate on additional EC’s or anything else. I guess you can call admissions and ask if there is a way to submit another essay? They may allow it, I’m not sure. And correct, you just list your test dates and then send your scores.
Got my interview request
Are you guys emailing or calling?
@collegemomjam thank you!!
I just submitted my application, but when I looked at the final HTML, the formatting for the essays are a little weird? The spaces between paragraphs are huge for some reason? Did this happen to anyone else??
@kbn2015 yes, that happened to my daughter. It’s fine.
My interviewer replied to me after two weeks. He also requested for my resume. This seems rather formal compared to my other interviews.
Where or to whom do I send my letter of continued interest and supplemental information since I was deferred? I can’t figure out who my admissions counselor is online. (if it helps, I’m from Florida)
I would call the office and ask. I think there is a general mailbox and they may prefer you use that, but I’m not sure.
I have the same question…were we supposed to email or call the interviewer?
why did they ask for a picture also for the appilcation?
I personally emailed and he responded very quickly with a kind tone
Propose a place & date, and make sure to tell your interviewer you’re so excited about the opportunity to present yourself as a person to Georgetown.
As a member of the Alumni Admissions Program, I always ask for a resume in advance of the interview. We get very little information about the students from the University, so having the resume gives us some insight into the applicant’s interests, activities, etc. before meeting them. It is helpful in framing the interview ahead of time instead of going in cold knowing nothing about the student!
Applicants are expected to contact the interviewer within one week of receiving the notice. Email is typically best. We also get a notice that we have been assigned an interview. As a bit of advice, some interviewers (including myself) use the length of time it takes a student to contact us as one measure of their interest and seriousness in attending Georgetown. So unless there are extenuating circumstances, I’d suggest emailing your interviewer as soon as possible after receiving the notice.
Good luck to all!
Has anyone gotten a portal so we can track our documents? Does one even exist?
@lesliehz Aside from the one where we submitted our supplement, I haven’t gotten another portal. I think that’s all we get, since it does track recommendation forms, just not SAT/ACT scores.
I was admitted EA- you don’t receive a portal to track your application. GTown will email you or your school if you are missing anything (for example, my rep emailed me when my scores were missing)
@yonceonhismouth do you know if/where we can submit supplementary materials?
