no problem! good luck! hoping mine comes today, and yours too!
@student1818 While you should of course go to the school that you feel most at home at, I would just caution you to look beyond Georgetown’s stereotypes. As a current student at the SFS, I have really not experienced the stress culture, elitism, or extreme competitiveness that you mention. Students here are driven, passionate, and interested in world affairs but they’re not cutthroat. They study with each other, help each other on essays and tests, and collaborate. They’re involved but not crazy about it and not snobby either. As another poster mentioned, it sounds like you would be an amazing asset to the Georgetown community and I urge you to at least give it a chance.
Waitlisted at the business school. I’m absolutely heartbroken as Georgetown was my first choice I’m on vacation so I had my neighbor open the letter, does anyone know how hard it is to get off the waitlist for the business school?
@collegeskillingme I have and I know of a few others as well in VA
Just a reminder that stats should go in the official results thread
I called the admissions. They said they were sending some out still and that they just hope to have everyone get it by April 1st and if you don’t by than to call them ask about your decision. I also called my post office because they mess up my mails sometimes but they said they gave everything that was supposed to come so I guess we just have wait little while more. But it’s odd because I applied ea too and I got my decison exactly on the 15th
i’m shook af waitlisted??? (ohio)
i thought i’d be rejected for sure omg
Ahhg the waiting continues, then Best of luck to all that are opening letters today, and congrats to all those accepted!!
S Waitlisted to MBS. Only took 1% off wait list last year. Moving on. California, btw…
@hoyabluegray Thank you so much for your insight and its good to hear that other students have had experiences that don’t align with the stereotypes! I am certainly still considering it, I’m deciding between Gtown and Wellesley. I will be going to the GAAP program so, hopefully, I will get a better idea about it then. Also, diversity is really important to me and is a big factor in where I want to go to college. I know Gtown’s overall diversity but would you say SFS is pretty diverse? or less than the others schools.
@student1818 I could say that diversity is actually pretty good in the SFS. We attract a lot of international students and people from all different backgrounds. There’s also a lot of student groups focused on celebrating different heritages and diversity. Of course, like all major schools there’s a lot Georgetown could improve on when it comes to diversity but within the SFS at least it’s definitely celebrated.
This is ridiculous no letter yesterday or today, wth?
@hoyabluegray Are they tolerant to moderate conservative students also? That’s a worry.
Did the people who were accepted receive any kind of email?
I am out of the country on vacation and will not be able to access my mail:( I’m just wondering if there is a way to find out
@nyu050583 Can you ask a neighbor or a friend? You can also call them in a couple of days and see if they’d be willing to tell you on the phone.
yeah thats a good idea… but there wasn’t any email for those who were accepted right?
@nyu050583 No. The letter did say we should expect an email with details for visit days and the GAAP program, but that’s not for a couple of days.
No letter today in CA. Maybe they send out letters alphabetically, since geography and acceptance/rejection seem to be random. ? Just a thought.
Does anyone know how to “send further materials” if you’ve been waitlisted?
