Congrats!!
People on extended waitlist - Which school ? CAS or SFS?
CAS. Here since deferred early – it’s been a crazy ride!
Anyone have any idea when people typically have heard back after being put on extended waitlist?
I think last year, some people heard back in late June. So I’d assume that mid-July will be the longest you’d have to wait, but that date is up to the institution.
extended waitlist lmfaooo. i guess this is my 13th waitlist! didn’t write a LOCI so not sure how i didn’t get eliminated immediately
Wait I’m trying to gauge something here – everyone also on the extended waitlist, do you feel as though many people from your school/area have already been accepted?
My daughter just got off fhe waitlist. She is admitted to the School of Health. Everyone has been very helpful so I hope this information helps for future waitlisters. She got an email from her AO right after she sent in her LOCI saying she had done “everything right”.
May 9-email to schedule call with AO.
May 10-brief convo confirming continued interest and no financial aid. He told hed theyd be meeting as a committee on Monday to discuss a select group of candidates.
May 15-informed of acceptance by email
I hope that adds some transparency to the waitlist process. Happy to help with any other questions.
I got an extended waitlist. No one from my school has ever been accepted to Georgetown but I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of people from surrounding regions got in.
Looks like they put a whole lot of us on the extended waitlist - this is frustrating
Did they set up a personal phone call and then put you on the extended waitlist? We have a personal phone call today. Wondering if this if for exteneded or acceptance. Just trying to prepare mentally.
You got a phone call this morning? After being put on the entented waitlist?
No, have not been put on extended waitlist. They wanted to talk to her. Did exteneded waitlist offer come via email?
It was on the portal last evening
Just a side thought, do you all think Georgetown was more need-aware when considering WL?
Correct me if Im wrong, but most of the people that Ive seen say they were accepted off the WL mentioned they would get little to no financial aid. I wonder if a deciding factor in choosing who would come off the WL would be who would commit regardless of the money.
It usually is, most schools will favor full pay at this point in the cycle.
I suppose that explains that IDOC request then. Probably Georgetown checking whether I was full pay or not.
It was my understanding that Georgetown is need blind. How would they even know you are FULL PAY? We would be full pay but would they assume that since we have no financial aid info uploaded at all? Don’t even know what IDOC is.
At this point they are need aware
Everyone here and on Reddit appears to be full pay that received a call
How would they know this?
