Georgetown Fall 2017 Transfer

Does anyone know how many students get into each school, approximately?

I just emailed my admissions officer and asked when I should expect to be hearing back. I told her I have a deposit due in 2 weeks, and she said she’d let me know by noon tomorrow!
But guys her email was weird and I need help figuring it out.
She wrote, “We release our decisions on or before June 1st, but I can work with the admissions committee to give you an early (likely) decision due to your existing deposit deadline.”
Does that mean I’m likely in or that they’ll likely give me an early decision?? :-/

@lbmoney I think they mean the decision is not confirmed. They give out “likely” admissions meaning that your admission isn’t confirmed, but they are likely to admit you. Or not likely to admit you. It’s basically a hedge.

@judurak ooooh I get it thank you!!

I’m observing that the emails seem to come in at noon and 5, which should help my OCD email checking some. Congrats to all admitted

Tempted to send an email to try and get a decision; must be patient lol

@Robinyoursoul Me too! But I also don’t wanna rush them. There was an issue getting my prof report to them on time, so even though I’ll incur some fees if I go to Gtown from my current University, I’m tempted to wait it out

@Gonzalo0927 I applied to international politics. By the way, are you sure about the FA decision is coming tomorrow? I really need that to make my final decision, it will be great if I can receive that by tomorrow lol

I will make a admitted students for MSB once people add me on Facebook. Facebook

can’t make Facebook group if people dont add me on faceook. add me

Did anyone NOT apply for FA?

I didn’t apply for FA since there is none for international transfers.

@speedracer01 First year admission ratio for College:SFS:MSB:NHS is about 9:3:2.5:1
If they are following the same ratio for transfer, judging from the 190 seats available, it should be around
110 for college, 38 for SFS, 31 for MSB and 11 for NHS
But I am pretty sure that is not ture, it seems to me that there are more SFS and MSB transfers than that… but you can make an estimation base on that

@Ireallywhat2 Cool! I do remember the dean of sfs mentioning that about a dozen get into SFS but it does depend on number of seats available, so could be more

@Ireallywhat2 that’s what they told me when I spoke over the phone at least. Dunno if that’s just for me or for everyone in general.
I also applied for international politics!

Wait, so only roughly 12 people are getting into SFS this transfer? I feel like the number shrinks daily! I’ve now heard of about 6 people getting in… And I’m sure there are more that aren’t in this feed an such. Holy cow, that stinks.

Another day passed by; another day with no decision. Highly considering asking for an early read. The other school I’m considering that I’ve been accepted to is GWU. Registration for the fall term is already open which could put me in a tough spot. Hmmm

@Robinyoursoul Which school did you apply to? That might be an important determining factor in asking for an early read

@Robinyoursoul

Don’t forgot you are an expert at the hurry up and wait thing. I really believe that the amount of people who email admissions over the same read mine first because (fill in the blank) will leave an impression of impatience. It sucks waiting but at the same time we all filled out the application knowing decisions are not posted tell the 1st of June and it’s only the 10th of May.

hey guys, is anyone a minority who got in? My friend is a minority at georgetown and she says there really are not many there…I hope some minorities have gotten in !
