Thank you @iMacHD …here’s to hoping they’re more generous this year lol
@Gonzalo0927 I already paid deposit and was prolly going there regardless of Gtown decision. Good luck at SFS!
What if you haven’t heard yet?
@emprsng It would be bad for them to not take anyone from the waitlist because that means they could go over their enrollment cap. So I think they will definitely take some people of the waitlist. But I also think the ones they do take off will be taken off early like they did with the one person on the thread last year.
Received the waitlist offer in its physical form VIA post office from Georgetown this morning. Have already started my continued interest package. Good luck everyone
@Robinyoursoul what’s a continued interest package?
Accepted to SFS today!! Now I have to decide between Brown and Georgetown. I am completely torn as of right now…
@emprsng just a packet of things that I’ll send to the admissions committee to show my continued interest. Such as: a formal letter of continued interest, another letter of recommendation, updated resume, etc.
I don’t plan on bombarding them with documents, so I’m just sending them the most pertinent information that I think will benefit my chances
@Robinyoursoul print out every page of this forum and send it to them lol
@iMacHD lmao, that gave me a nice laugh. If only they saw all my internet efforts!!
Edit: WL efforts have been going well. I can’t be thankful enough for the helpful advisors I’ve met throughout my time working with the State Department; will continue my George Washington U transfer process but remain hopeful!
Got an email from Georgetown’s financial aid office! I am not receiving any scholarship or financial assistance. Someone else who has been waitlisted at the SFS can get my seat!
Sent an email to admissions today letting them know that I won’t be enrolling, hopefully that opens a spot for one of you on the waitlist! Best of luck to everyone wherever you end up!
I was rejected - good luck everyone!
@aihcxx what school id you apply for? sophomore?
@internaute I was admitted to Georgetown College as a sophomore political economy major
I am having problems with my Berkeley SIR (they incorporated a new processing/portal system this year, and it is buggy AF). As soon as this problem is resolved and I get a confirmation that everything is in order for me to transfer to Cal, I will call Gtown admissions and hopefully open up a spot for one of you!
@Gonzalo0927 Are you sure about the three-year graduation policy? From what I saw on their website, they say the transfer student only have to complete 20 courses in order to graduate, and I believe that the 3-year minimum only applies to the freshmen.
@Gonzalo0927 I think the requirement is pretty clear on their website.
Regulations particular to the School of Foreign Service include, but are not limited to:
Students must complete a minimum of six semesters of university study, four of which must be full-time and in residence in the School of Foreign Service. A minimum of 60 credits must be completed in residence. Semesters are defined as fall and spring semesters (not summer).
Yeah so I’m pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that transfers can complete it in two years. They do have to lie on campus for all four semesters though
Def call admissions though. Idk why they’d do that
