June 1 is the date we’re told. But if you look on last year’s Georgetown transfer thread some who were accepted found out starting the first or second week of May.

But also this year the deadline was pushed back 2 weeks.

So the best answer is: You’ll find out some time between now and June 1.

hey everyone…ive been following this thread for awhile and just decided to join in now that the days are getting closer and closer…

i also have a question:

I know that applying to specialized programs (ie. SFS) means that the adcom is looking for certain coursework when evaluating transfers. my friend applied to transfer to a specialized school in cornell and was deferred for the spring because he hasn’t taken one of their “recommended” courses–statistics. at my current LAC, i haven’t taken any poli-sci or econ courses due to my school’s own course distribution requirements and was wondering how this affects the committee’s evaluation of me. i’ve done very well in the literature & language classes i’ve taken…is that what matters? or will gtown, like cornell, decide that i’m not “up to par” enough?

If so, the adcom will think it’s important for you to have taken courses that will satisfy requirements for the “core curriculum.” These all aren’t necessarily “International Politics” or International Affairs courses, but like history, writing, philosophy, etc. Math and science are not part of the SFS core curriculum at all. So if a substantial amount of your coursework during your first year of college was math and science, then don’t expect to get accepted to something like SFS, even if you have a 4.0 GPA.

i don’t know how much this applies here but i am in a general arts curriculum at my current university but when i decided to apply for transfer i really liked the business program at nyu. i called them up and they understood why i couldn’t complete all my prereqs and said to add that info in the “additional info” section too. they said only having finished half the prereqs in freshman year won’t affect my chances if i give suitable reasons why i couldn’t.

thanks for the advice, and yes it is SFS. I looked up the course reqs and if i’m accepted it looks like my language (arabic), lit (sfs requires two courses) and philosophy classes will likely transfer. best of luck to everyone, and im glad this thread is picking up!

Hey everyone!
The time has come!!!
I just received an email with the subject line “Decision Letter.” It is very lengthy, but it lets you know if you got in right away. I made it!
Good luck to all of you
Hope to see you next year!

Hah, yeah! Are you? Here, I’ll paste it:
