Georgetown Transfer Questions

I wonder if rejections will get emailed as well…

Thanks! Hopefully all of you will get to join me in the Fall! Good luck!

170/1600 !? thats like…11%. do you think they just emailed everyone at once :(? what were your stats those accepted?

Yeah… that’s pretty ridiculous. Average acceptance from previous years was like 18%.

Keep close eye on the wording: 170 spots. Since yield is never anywhere near 100%, schools usually admit significantly more.

Congratulations to those admitted. If my year is any indication, a nice big packet will come with all the lovely details (after the physical acceptance letter, of course).

170 spots probably means 300 acceptances though. I have a 3.8 GPA through 3 semesters at a NESCAC and my SAT’s were 1420/2150.

Yup, sounds about right.

accepted :)

wow, a lot of acceptances today, eh? :)

If rejected by GT, are we gonna have it via mail? haven’t receive any email yet :frowning: how about everybody else?

no e-mail either and i am absolutely dying of anxiety because georgetown is EVERYTHING for me. :(

i feel like they’ll probably just do acceptances first, depends on if they released them all at once though

Congrats to those who got in! Looks like i’ll anxiously be checking my inbox for the next few days/weeks.

Mind telling us what particular schools within Georgetown you applied to?

When posting your decisions, please post a brief summary of your stats. Thanks.

btw, last year 2000 people applied if i am correct (according to last year’s thread). 1600 applicants is a very positive sign for us. not georgetown of course, which seems to be doing worse this year in terms of application numbers than its competitors.

yes, please more details will be VERY APPRECIATED!!!

THANK YOU!!! AND CONGRATULATIONS!!

:)

I applied/was accepted to be a Political Economy major in the College.

Does anyone know if the major you list on the application is binding? If you’re accepted, are you not allowed to change your major or double with something else?

I don’t think switching a major would be at all that hard. Usually, things get stickier when you want to switch schools, but that also can be done (some call it a backdoor into the SFS, but I knew many SFS-to-College transfers. I guess when they realized the were just lusting after prestige and had no use for the incredibly specialized SFS majors, they decided to pursue their passions).
