Georgetown Transfer Questions

waitlisted!!!

ughhhhhhhhhhhhh

more anxiety!!!

That’s better than nothing!! Still nothing for me :(

can’t believe they waitlisted me though!!! i was sure that email carried an acceptance… when i read that word (waitlisted), my heart dropped!!! :'(

people, i will pay you my entire trust fund to deny georgetown!! :p

Me neither.

Waitlisting a transfer seems so cruel… It’s so late that it puts the student in a precarious position, as far as enrolling in another school, etc.

what are the waitlist statistics for gtown college??? any help/link will be appreciated!!!

thanks!!

hookedongtown, would you mind posting your stats?

I don’t know any waitlist statistics, though I’m sure the committee is very selective about who it places on the waitlist, as yield is probably very high and given the particular circumstances prospective transfer students find themselves in, the admissions committee is probably not eager to place too many on the waitlist. However, I do not know for certain, so none of the above should be taken as a guarantee or representation of anything.

my stats:

McGill (freshman year): GPA- 3.87
SAT1: 2060 (my second weakest point)
International H.S GPA/Rank: 4.0/3rd out of 66
essays: i am not the best writer but i hope to become better at it because i am very passionate about international law… thus, rather weak essays but i think i did make it evident why i am a good fit for the Hilltop.
recommendation: my professor who wrote it and i really get along because we’re both interested in similar issues. so i am guessing it was at least decent. not my highest mark course though.
H.S Extracurrculars: only Model UN and volunteer work
College Extracurriculars: A LOT. i made up for my laziness in ec’s in high school.

hope that helps anyone!

oh, and i applied to the College for the Economics major!

SFS applicant right? I so nervous theres only been one MSB acceptance so far

Nothing in my inbox yet. I hope it’s not going in the order of acceptances, waitlists, and then finally rejections.

actually i believe there has been at least two msb acceptances so far. and i have a question: if they know who they are waitlisting, doesn’t that mean they have made all the decisions already?

I don’t know what it means but its annoying to wait for a possible disappointment. I am fed up with this process especially because it hits me during finals week.

Good point, univerCity, VERY GOOD POINT.

Did anybody else got email from GT? Didn’t receive anything yet :(

I’m also still waiting.

@ Univercity: it at least seems like they’ve made all their decisions. i doubt rejections will go out anytime soon though… ugghhhh, life’s like this.

good luck everybody!!!

Ahh I went to check my e-mail and I saw I had a new one, from a college, starting with the letter “G!” My heart skipped a beat for about a fraction of a second until I realized it was just spam.

If anybody else is a community college student and member of PTK, you probably know the feeling of getting spammed by colleges saying “apply here!” I get maybe 2-3 a week and every time I think it’s a decision e-mail at first.

Come onnnnnnn MSB.

Hopefully some more MSB acceptances come out!

Anyone hear anything from SFS??
