Georgetown Transfer Questions

@hookedongtown

Well, I can’t help you by turning Georgetown down as I already sent in my acceptance, but if it makes you feel any better, I know of at least one student who was accepted to Georgetown but is planning to transfer to Yale instead.

winogrand, that’s what I want to know too! I remember reading somewhere that SFS decisions would come later, and I don’t think anyone who’s posted about getting a decision yet applied to SFS.

Anybody knows if they do international applicants separately?

Planning to transfer to Yale is one thing. Actually getting in is another. If, on the likely chance he/she doesn’t get into Yale, then the real question is whether he/she will go to Georgetown…

@transferstudent2 I know exactly how u feel. I’ve been chapter president and I must have received more than 50 different catalogs. Too bad most of them are not worth applying to.

@ drob230: haha, i was only joking. i would never ask anybody to turn down their acceptance seriously lol.

@ Flowerhead

No, I mean his Facebook says he’s “going to YALE in the Fall!”

Yeah, yale sent out a round of emails this morning…

Oh my bad haha

OMG, still waiting, feel bad, no emailllllll…mad…I think I need sleep pills… so many finals are approaching. whos everybody feeling?

Still waiting here too. Fortunately, I’ve gotten into a few schools I’m happy with so I’m not quite as anxious as everyone else here - but best of luck to everyone! I’m sure a substantial number of people will receive decisions within the coming week. Fingers crossed!

in some cases you’ll be made to wait longer. lol, like me.

No worries. The Yale kid won’t have nearly as much fun as us Hoyas any way.

Waitin on MSB. Hopefully some decision start rolling in this week.

So it sounds like other than Hookedongtown, no one has heard today. Congratulations, by the way, it’s not a rejection and you still have a chance!!!
I’m visiting Georgetown today and went to admissions, the admissions officer I met with was lovely. She said that the committees will be done meeting by the end of the week, meaning that all decisions are not yet made (considering I just added extra stuff to my app I really hope not!!). If it helps anyone, I applied to the college as a Gov major and my committee was still meeting.
Good Luck!!!

@hookedongtown - It’s all good, I expect them to waitlist me too. You did get into some of the other schools you wanted to go to right?

thanks, yeah, i hope i make it in from the waitlist though!! :)

i called in the morning btw after sending in extra docs and honestly 2 hours later i had my decision. i have a feeling they either made my decision within those 2 hours or had decided to reject me earlier and changed their mind at the last minute or something!

idk, seems like they’re wrapping up college admissions. i kinda wish i had applied to msb now hahah… although, supposedly msb isn’t very good…?? :/

@ kulakai:

yep, i made it to NYU but Georgetown’s my dream school so if i were to be taken off the wait list at ANY time, i’d go there in a heartbeat :)

sooo… do you guys think it’s more competitive to get into the college or msb???

@wildcat - if decisions are going to be finalized by the end of this week thats pretty good news.

MSB is a great business program. They have a gorgeous new building that opened earlier this year as well.
