Georgetown Transfer Questions

@drob where are you goin to school/whered you get in? are you gonna be doin political economy? im majorin in that if i go to washu

@athletics: Well in my opinion WUSTL is a lot better. Wash U has small classes and has a great business school. Plus WUSTL places students into law schools well.

WUSTL hands down for me. absolute hands down, tuft isnt even on the board for me.

I will definitely keep that in mind, but for now im keeping my fingers crossed for gtown haha

Accepted, just got the email about an hour ago.
Transferring into the college as a sophmore

Currently attending UC Davis

HS GPA: 3.8ish (unweighted)
SAT SCORES: 1400 (math and reading)
HS ECs: ice hockey team (president of it senior year)
boy scouts (not an eagle)
performed community service on an indian reservation over the summer

College ECs: ice hockey team

College GPA: through my first two quarters im at a little bit less then a 3.8

Hii…

Hopefully, will be applying as a transfer in two years as a junior applicant. Currently, I am a senior in high school.

I haven’t taken any SAT Subject Tests. Will that hurt me?

Also, my most recent SAT score was a 2050.

Specifically 650 CR 700 M 700 W

I got a 650 on CR because English is my second language. I am a Filipino immigrant who migrated to the US 5 years ago and taught English myself.

Should I retake the SATs?

Accepted! so excited!
is there anyone has already received the evaluation of transfer credit?

@renh: I got into the college with only a 2070, and a 2050 is pretty close. I think georgetown doesn’t look at writing so i had a 1360/1600. take that as you will.

Castiel, my SAT was a 1360 too, with a few points higher on writing, so I’m hoping your acceptance is a good sign for me too.

@Athletics12

I considered applying to WUSTL, but only wound up applying to Georgetown with the safety option of going abroad for a year. I was lucky enough to be accepted in the early wave, so I’m going to be a Hoya in the Fall! And yes, I’ll be majoring in Political Economy.

Nice, i’ll keep you updated of my decision (most likely a denial) what were your stats like and where you at right now?

wildcat: haha nice, i think ur at gwu so a lot of you end up at georgetown and if your gpa is id say a 3.8+ you should be in in my opinion

I know every piece of info counts, so here’s mine: I received an acceptance by email yesterday. I didn’t ask, it was the official one. Best of luck to everyone still waiting to hear!

@Athletics12

I am transferring from Trinity College in CT. I finished with a 3.825 GPA over 4 semesters to go with a 1420/1600, good essays and a recommendation from a very enthusiastic GU alum who was one of my IR professors. Good luck!

@Castiel

I had figured Wildcat is at Villanova (a rival school with a basketball team called the Wildcats).

@Castiel, my GPA from the spring semester was a 3.87, but the fall was like a 3.3 because of one extracurricular (just my luck) which I had backed up by a letter from the dept. head.

@Drob, you are absolutely correct. Hoyas are obviously the better basketball team though.

Did anyone hear back today?

are they going to send an email if you get accepted? i keep hearing that people are finding out through email

When i called admissions today the girl said snail mail, which leads me to believe that DC/VA/MD will hear tomorrow, and the rest will hear on Wednesday.

did they make all decisions by today??

I remember someone saying a week or so back that all decisions were being sent out on May 24th.

“Emailed admissions because I have the Vanderbilt deadline approaching and just got a response saying “it looks unlikely.” She said final decisions will be mailed on Monday.”
