Status: Rejected (Offered Conditional Transfer Pathway)
Intended Major: Neuroscience
Residency: In-state
GPA: 3.8 UW, 4.38 W
Testing/Rigor: 1540 SAT, 15 AP’s
EC’s: NHS, Tri-M, Full Orchestra, Varsity Tennis, Varsity Ultimate, Started a Brass Quintet, Boy Scouts (Eagle Scout), First Chair F Horn, 3x Honor Band, (Basically Bunch of Music Stuff),
Essays/Recs: I thought that each was solid. I got solid feedback and my teacher recommender really liked me and knew me well inside and out of the classroom as she was my calc teacher and school tennis coach.
Comments: Kind of at a loss. I guess my math grades could’ve been better, but they were still solid 85 in both AP Calcs. I got a 4 on BC with a 5 an AB subscore, so I thought that would remediate. My dad went there, so I guess that’s why I got the transfer offer.
In my son’s case last year he just got the major he applied for in the beginning. There is tricky way to find it. I think it’s from his buzz account. But I think if they don’t mention specifically you should get the major what you applied for.
I would like to chime into for my son’s experience last year. He specifically specified not considering summer school in the application. And he was deferred in EA but got accepted in RD for summer session. He didn’t get fall admission.
Of course he was not happy as he lost his last summer break with his HS buddies. But he ended up attending summer session. He liked it. Basically it’s a good venue to know the school. And he took several liberal courses which cleared some core requirements. Normally summer session liberal courses are pretty easy so if you don’t like liberal it’s a good way to get an easy A:)
My son’s case last year. He didn’t check the option to attend summer. He was deferred in EA. And he got accepted to summer even though he didn’t check the option.
From his experience, summer is not bad. class load is light. Easy credits.
My son was accepted to Aerospace Engineering and registered for Gold Carpet Day. Should he register for a separate engineering or other tours as well? We are OOS and trying to make travel arrangements.
Congrats on the AE acceptance! It’s an amazing program - one of the best in the world. No need to register for additional tours if you are signing up for Gold Carpet Day. Tours are included, as are other activities and informational programs for students and parents. A generous lunch is included too, and you can take a dorm tour.
