what time will GA decisions be out on March 14, 2020?
Is it okay and/or worthwhile to update other colleges on being named Stamps semifinalist? Anyone has thoughts on this?
@TheVulcan @PAdude What do you think?
@beaverx3, to what end?
Sorry, I don’t understand what you mean.
There are other updates to be made, just wondering if this is something that could be added on.
What would one be trying to accomplish by notifying other colleges that his/her chances of getting a Stamps scholarship at Georgia Tech went from approx. 1 in 100 to approx. 1 in 10?

I personally do not think updating them on the progress of your other college applications (whether it’s acceptances or scholarships) is expected or beneficial.
@TheVulcan Thanks. Point noted.
I’m just wondering when does GT usually release decisions for deferred students, is it similar to UofM’s method or is it all at one on a specific date?
@yash07gautam thankfully they don’t do it like UofM. Deferred students get their decision with the rest of RD on a single day which is March 14th this year.
Thanks for the help! I know I am definitely nervous for both UofM and GT.
Anyone know if there is any potential for merit awards for Gtech for OOS students if not involved in Stamps? Or are all OOS students full pay if not Stamps or financial aid candidates?
Yes, @PADude, there are several opportunities for OOS students to get scholarship $ http://osfa.gatech.edu/scholarships?field_residency_value%5B%5D=us&field_residency_value%5B%5D=unrestricted
@PAdude The Provost Scholarship is for OOS. No application. I read they offer 20 at EA and 20 at RD.

I knew at least 2 OOS students received 10-14k scholarships from GT.
does anyone know when finalists for the stamps scholarship will be notified?
Anyone has any links to existing threads or has insights to freshman housing options including LLCs for a CS major freshman? Trying to figure out the timing to sign up ( still waiting on other schools’ scholarship awards so can’t just commit yet); which LLCs or dorms are good fit for CS students, etc. The housing website is not terribly helpful. TIA!!!

Anyone have any idea of what the regular admission acceptance rate will be - based on recent year #s?

Anyone have any idea of what the regular admission acceptance rate will be - based on recent year #s?
Last year GT accepted a total of ~7.6K and ~3K enrolled. For this year they aren’t planning to increase enrollment, so they will probably accept about the same or slightly less since yield has been increasing the past 5 years. They accepted ~4.6K during EA so that leaves ~3K more acceptances during RD. There are ~41K applicants this year and 22K during EA, so that leaves an RD applicant pool of ~23.6K, which includes the EA deferred of 22%. So 3k out of 23.6K means RD will have an acceptance rate of less than 13%.
