The Decision letter says I am accepted but did not mention the major in which I got accepted. I was Deferred in CS for EA. Does it mean now I got accepted to CS?
No, waitlist does not make you decline other opportunities. You can still accept admissions to another school and be on the waitlist for GT. If you get off the waiting list then you might lose you deposit at the school you have accepted.
There is a place on buzzport where your students info is list and it will have your major listed. Though during EA and last year everyone was accepted to their first choice major.
@racereer, oh I did not know that! Are you saying that accepting an admission offer by May 1st is NOT LEGALLY BINDING???
In other words, changing mind after May 1st acceptance means only losing the deposit? (I dont want to sound rude, but in the bigger scheme of college-expense, that $400/$500 loss does not sound like a huge amount of loss)!
I was a deferred candidate with a 34 ACT and a 5.05 GPA. I had lots of ECs and Leadership roles but due to me being OOS and other factors I truly didn’t think i was going to get in.
Today I found out I was accepted. Whether you think you’re not going to get in, apply because you really never know what will happen! Congrats to everyone!!
@calcuttaboy2002 putting a deposit down on a school dosen’t legally bind you to go there, just lose your deposit. This is how waitlist works as you usually don’t come off until after May 1 anyway.
I think yes. You can go to Oscar, and admission, your major is there.
D also defered EA got into CS, SAT 1540, 4.0UW, EC is so so, asian female, oos, so excited.
This is correct, but I wanted to add that at some point over the summer (generally late summer) you become obligated for the dorm and meal plan. When this happens depends on the school, and schools usually let you know as the date approaches. Also, if you accept a spot off a waitlist make sure you properly notify the school you deposited at that you will not be attending.
