This is the official discussion thread for Georgia Tech Class of 2028 RD applicants. Ask your questions and connect with fellow applicants.
When did early action 2 decisions come out last year?
I believe it was the end of January.
Just got email for ED2, Jan 26th at 7pm eastern time.
Does Georgia Tech release in state RD and OOS RD on different days like they do for EA? Also about what day are we looking at for OOS specifically if that matters.
No. Both are the same. They only recently divided the EA decisions. And I think this is a reaction to UGA, which is their biggest competitor, which always releases EA decisions over Thanksgiving. My oldest who just graduated (high school class of 2019] found out about Georgia Tech at the end of January. He is in state.
RD will be late March.
Georgia tech just said that 3/1 will be RD and defer release for in-state. Late March for OOS. Guessing either 3/22 or 2/29 for that.
What time are the in-state decisions being released this evening? Good luck everyone!
Decisions will be released today @ 7 PM ET
Did anyone get anything
My son just got accepted after being deferred in Early Action 1. We are in-state.
It definently seems that the RD group is much smaller. Only 1 person (even though it is in-state only) is pretty low.
GT stated in a release or some posting that they accepted “hundreds” of in-state students in this RD round. I was surprised to see the “hundreds”, instead of “thousands”
RD acceptance rate is always lower. I think it was 10 percent one recent year. That would track.
I imagine the pool was not super large. Most georgia students probably apply ea since that is the best shot, and most get in that way.
You are forgetting about the thousands of deferred students. Not sure the pool is much smaller in the spring, but they will publish stats.
Tough year or similar to priors?
Anyone have speculated dates on when Gatech OOS RD comes out?
Do we know from prior years when OOS RD is expected this year?
