Can see it in Oscar with GT account but I doubt it has anything to do with admissions
Several years ago having the pay now button was an indicator for admission, but they closed that loophole. It only appeared the day of admission release. This far in advance I would think it is unrelated, and simply some sort of maintenance
S25 received an email saying decisions are coming out Jan 31 at 7PM EST.

Definitely DO NOT have a Pay Now Button through Oscar on our side.
Does anyone else still awaiting a decision (EA2) have what @bearden shows a Pay Now through Oscar? (If yes, I will mildly panic as we are EA2 and see no such thing).
My daughter does have Pay Now button in Oscar, we have to use GT account for it. Like @bearden mentioned we can see $amounts for athletic, recreation etc under “Make a payment” option and we can buy them but I doubt it has anything to do with admission as we are still 2 weeks away from the date. GT | GT Login This is where we were able to see pay now. Not from what @bearden user posted above. We are EA2

Daughter checked and she has the Pay Now button and when she clicks on it, it gives a Make a Payment option. We are EA2.
May I know where this Pay Now Button appears? Thanks.

I agree with you. It doesn’t mean anything from an admissions perspective!
This is a interesting trend I saw, for public universities , for now, schools required sat/act actually see a huge bump in applications and yield, I thought it will be other way around ,I have my theory, high qualified kids sick of got rejected because they can not compete with… say , people with money that can hire someone to fluff their application, for my daughter majorly of the school she applied requires or respect SAT/ACT,

We applied RD to GTech in the first week of Jan and we also see the Pay Now Details.
So, I don’t think it’s any indicator as indicated in the above posts…

Has your child done GT distance math? Those kids have it I think. I too doubt it has anything to do with admissions because five years ago it absolutely did - and it was a portal astrology loophole that was closed. Even then it only appeared when decisions were uploaded mid afternoon.

I have a question, do you know if GT gives any merit scholorship to OOS students?
Almost never. There is the Stamps scholarship program, which is a full ride scholarship. This is offered to the top 1% of applicants. Those notifications should be going out in the next week or so. If you are notified you are a semi finalist you must then attend a finalist weekend in late February. I think they give around 40 Provost scholarships, which brings out of state tuition down to in-state levels. And there are some of the smaller schools like the college of sciences that offer small Dean’s scholarships. Almost all admitted students get zero merit, with the exception of the free tuition state sponsored scholarships for Georgia residents. Also, all scholarship opportunities require you apply early admission.

Same. We can also see dining plan options though not for fall 2025 when we went into that part of the portal.
International - 12 APs (4s & 5s), 1530 SAT (790 Math), strong ECs & LORs.
Got deferred from Purdue and Princeton and starting to feel hopeless here, hope Georgia Tech accepts me, applied as MechE!
