Georgia Tech Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

Ok, so the chart says 66,919 apps for 25-26, so maybe that does include RD. Last year, 59,814 apps. That’s an 11% increase, which seems substantial - anyone have thoughts on why?

I don’t know if this is all accurate, but the chart shows an 8% decrease for overall CS apps, which is interesting considering the 11% increase in total apps, unless major-specific data are not entirely recorded yet or something.

Yes, see that

Where is this chart?

when you check buzzcard, does it say welcome and upload the pic?

That is a public page. Everyone can access it.

got it, thank you

Click Admissions and then the First Year tab. Then play with the drop down menus.

Note that when you choose something in a drop-down menu, you also need to click Apply at the bottom of that menu, to have the chart result apply that filter.

Well seems like no dead giveaways this year. The required reading is the best bet imo but even that seems like it’s just showing in case an applicant w/ financial need got in

Good luck everyone!

Agreed.

That roughly 10 percent increase has been typical over the past few years. CS is the most competitive major with an acceptance rate last year of roughly 10%. It may be that people are applying to CS adjacent majors, like computer engineering or industrial engineering instead. It also may be that people think that they can be admitted as a different major and then transfer into the CS department. That is no longer allowed.

Correct for MIT & CalTech. Also UT Austin.

Is anyone able to log into Canvas for GT? I am able to I don’t think it means anything though. I got to canvas through OSCAR if anyone is wondering.

CS apps are down, but others are up significantly

It seems Ga Tech is just a hot school in the eyes of many students from a number of areas/geographies.

what percentage of these apps r usually in state?

Top engineering school. In the south, yes, warmer weather. Maybe parents (and therefore kids) are shying away from schools that are more politically motivated/charged? And, the kids are smart and well rounded… i.e. they can enter the workforce and become leaders … versus say maybe “better” schools but the goal is to become the next nobel prize winner.

Agree with all of that, but there are some really pointy students there too. The biggest downside is no financial aid (merit or need based) for the vast majority of OOS students.

Wow, those are big increases in application numbers
