What are the chances of a Canadian getting off waitlists to the ivies?

same as everyone: 2-5%

Read: Pursue it but don’t expect it.

GL

waitlisted at my dream, yale…

5% is actually a better rate than the rd rate for canadians, lol…

^ I don’t know how many Canadians applied, but 30 were admitted in total this year. I’d say the odds aren’t so bad.

well, they take like 10 in early decision.

and where did u get the number 30?
from yale’s stat doc, they have around 67 canadians in total at yale.
if u factor in the 68% yield rate, yale prob admits around 20 a year.
so that means 10 in rd round.

I got it from the admitted students page. 10 were admitted EA and another 20 were admitted RD.

oo nice! 10char

For WL’s, anticipate a rejection. Unless you hear otherwise, particularly at Ivy and Ivy-like (Stanford, Hopkins, MIT, CalTech) schools.

That said, you should reiterate your interest, just in case.

would they really consider a yield for canadians? i mean like if they had spots for say… 10 canadians… would they really give 14 offers just in case? somehow, i doubt it.

but with that said, if they gave offers to 10 canadians and 8 decide to matriculate, i somehow also doubt that they would take two off the waiting list just to make up for the numbers…

any opinion on that?

and also, anyone know a thing or two about getting waitlisted to wharton?

every school works differently so it’s hard to know.

any canadians in recent history got off a waitlist to a top US college?
