The latest in the Bean household:
I asked DH where he thought GF should stay. “In the guest bedroom.” (Implication: there is no other choice.)

I pointed out that DS had mentioned my mom. DH suggested that didn’t have anything to do with a bedroom discussion, but a concern that we’d have lots of people here. Since she won’t be here, end of discussion.

Hummm … wonder what DS will say to that. Is it no wonder he asked me and not my DH? Then again, we might end up with the same conclusion, but I (over?) analyse these things.

I don’t think I’m going to venture on how my DH and I will handle this one day.

But the first time I met DH’s (my then boyfriend) family was over the summer between sophomore and junior year of college. He picked me up from the train, took me to dinner and then home. His parents graciously showed me to his sister’s room, all cleaned up for me with a nice full size bed. '

Problem was, his sister still lived at home, being 16 years old and all. So I got to share a room AND A DOUBLE BED with my boyfriend’s sister whom I had never laid eyes on until then.

I guess the in-laws to be wanted to make sure everyone stayed in their proper places that night :)
