Worth it or no?

depends on you

Well It depends how old you are. I’m gonna assume that you’re at least in 9th grade. I’d say at this point It’s useless, unless you want to know your IQ and join Mensa or something like that. I took it in 2nd grade, and it was worth it because I got to be in a special gifted class 3rd-8th grade, and got special priveledges since less that 1/4 of the gifted class was actually gifted. We didn’t get our IQ score though. All the notice was was pass or fail. So I might take an IQ test eventually.

Well I’m in 10th and I was really asking if it looks good on a transcript or not?

It’s pretty unnecessary.

useless once in high school, elementary school maybe worth it

In my school we are forced to do it.

Pretty worthless unless you are gifted and could, like goodnoodle mentioned, join Mensa. That’d probably look good on your transcript. But if your IQ hasn’t already been tested then I doubt it’d make the cutoff for that as someone whose IQ is in the 98th percentile would have probably been tested by this point…that level of intelligence tends to be pretty prominent early on. But just for the sake of putting your IQ on your transcript, I don’t think it’s very important, especially as so many schools are focussing on the well-rounded student.

No. 10char

Can’t really know that till you take the test though :P

I think it’s ok, it helps to put you in advanced science classes and for math also. If you score well. It never can hurt you but it will only help a little.

I think it really depends on your school/state;
like, my state cut gifted funding,
so our school no longer provides any real benefits to gifted students

but there are most likely some benefits somewhere (just not at my school)

After reading this, I think I’ll take it.
It’s not like I’ll lose something. I might just lose 3 hours of my life testing, but heck, I’ll probably spend my time sleeping.

thanks for all the responses

I’m glad you decided to take it dorkyelmo. I wasn’t saying that you shouldn’t take; I was just saying that there’s no benefit. I personally would probably take it if I was in your position.
