Agree that I know several SRs who have stopped eating toffee and other hard candy, even though they still have all their teeth. I also like Enstrom’s toffee.
Gads! Engstrom Toffee!! Love it!!!
But really do not think these ladies could eat it.
However, I have been on the fence about sending a gift to D’s new IL’s.
I do not want to start a gift exchange so on the fence.
I’ve ordered this toffee and it’s very good https://www.davessweettooth.com
The best pie https://shop.gtpie.com
In the past I’ve sent Cheesecake Factory cheesecake and it was a big hit.
I’ve also sent this as a gift. https://www.mackinacfudgeshop.com
A nice selection of more unique items.
Their mission is to make it easy to discover & buy from small-batch artisanal producers.
Wow, Cowgirl Creamery sends gifts? Cowgirl cheese is one of the most delicious things on earth. I particularly love Cowgirl Red Hawk. On several bike trips, my bike buddy and I have polished off a round of Red Hawk in an afternoon.
LOL- just discovered this thread after having ordered Harry&David for DS #2 and fiancée, and Wolfermans for DS#1 and wife.
Just went to an event at a local culinary school and tried some really tasty charcuterie. It is naturally cured and the company buys meats to cure from farms with sustainable practices. I found out you can get gift boxes online. I am ordering a few for the meat lovers in my family. www.moodyswaltham.com
Am I the only one who doesn’t care for Edible Arrangements, especially at the holidays? The fruit quality has been variable (Dec is a challenge) and having fruit cut ahead isn’t optimal. Unless it is delivered just ahead of a party, and you know it is coming, odds of it being appreciated are diminished and it has to be disassembled to refrigerate.
William Dean makes nice Euro-style chocolates (online from Largo, FL) and they can be ordered for event favors as well. Have not ordered them online yet; the quality at the shop, as well the presentation, is admirable.
I’ve never been thrilled with Edible Arrangements myself—too much cut fruit at one time makes it very tough for it to all be tasty and eaten when the fruit is at its best, not to mention the food surfaces exposed.
The concept is nice enough and I guess it could be ok for a party but not something I ever have or plan to order.
We found Enstroms toffee when we lived in their home in Western Co decades ago. Great family company. My relatives want the toffee popcorn!
We had the best pears I’ve ever had one year from Harry and David. The next year they were awful - they sent us a replacement that had just as many bad fruit. We’ve had pretty good luck with Pig of the Month. SIL sends it to us, we eat it. It’s fun to get though not the best BBQ ever. My mother used to send us Ducktrap Farm smoked fish. It’s great, but our local supermarket also carries it. I especially like the trout.
I’m looking for an olive oil gift for a relative who is discerning about olive oil. Any ideas?
Haven’t tried them - but this place is well known for olive oil - http://www.oliviersandco.com/
I got someone a gift of O olive oil. They liked it.
http://chacewaterwine.com has great olive oil and a fantastic Zinfandel, too.

Includes Harry & David and Wolferman’s.
I ordered from Zabars for my dad who preferred savory foods to sweets. He loved it.
My D got chocolate-covered strawberries for me at Valentine’s Day from Edible Arrangements and they were amazingly good.
I have ordered Wolfermans for my elderly aunt in the past and I guess it’s good, although I’ve never seen the gifts in person. I’m going to check out the additional ideas on this thread.
My D just ordered cherry republic as a gift for her boyfriends parents
