Is it weird for a girl to ask a guy to a dance? Like, if it’s not a Sadie Hawkins Dance… Would guys view that as pushy?

Depends on how closely the guy in question follows stereotypical gender roles.

No I personally don’t think it’s weird and no I don’t think it would be pushy.

If it’s not Sadies then it’s usually the guys that ask the girls but I’ve heard about some girls asking guys to a dance. It really depends on how close you are with the guy.

Go for it. I’d totally do it if I liked the guy enough. Just be cool and casual about it…you don’t want it to be all weird and awkward…

Although, when (or if, if we’re taking the optimistic sunshine approach) he says no there will be awkwardness later, won’t there?

Depends. If you guys are really close it probably won’t affect your relationship with him much.

bump??

Yeah I know 2 girls that already did that for prom and it worked

it’s not the 18th century anymore :D

No, a girl asked me to our junior prom a couple of days ago. I like that in a girl because it shows that they are a straight shooter and they know what they want.

Also, there are certain circumstances that would make it weird for the guy to ask the girl to a particular dance… For example, I’m a junior, and I asked a senior to the junior dinner dance. I don’t think seniors can ask juniors to the junior formal, haha… :p

I don’t see what the big deal is. I’ve asked guys to dances before, it’s never been awkward. Even if they say “no” (although, I don’t think it’s ever happened to me or anyone I know) it shouldn’t be any more awkward than if a guy asked a girl.

It’s not awkward. It’s just that USUALLY more guys tend to ask girls out instead of the reverse. But just because there’s less chance of girls asking guys out doesn’t mean that it’s strange. That’s my opinion.
