Thin letter here in PA… oh well. Congratulations to everyone who got in!

Thin letter.

Hello everyone,
I’m accepted to Barnard College!!! It came in a HUGE priority mail cardboard envelope.
And, I live in Ontario, California. I hope the rest of you have good news too. Barnard, Barnard!!! So excited.

Accepted!!!

Accepted! But financial aid is comparable to UChicago…or maybe just a little less, which is kind of frustrating. I was hoping I might get a little more…I have no clue what I’m going to do now. I guess it will depend on how much I like Chicago when I visit…luckily I’ve already visited Barnard.

Thin letter in Texas. C’est la vie, right? Congrats to those accepted!

Super Thin Envelope.

And it was torture too because I saw a nice, meaty envelope at first but it was just another letter about room and board and freshman day at another college I was accepted to a long time ago. There was nothing else that was thick so I realized it was a no go.

Oh well. I know I deserved to get in. I’M AN AMAZING PERSON. (there’s nobody else here to give me a pep talk, so I’m just going it myself).

At least I got into GWU? Weird because Barnard is only slightly more selective.

congrats to all acceptees!

Hateusernames, you ARE an amazing person. Don’t lose hope, my dear. You’re going to get accepted to an amazing college that will be perfect to for you and you’ll have the time of your life there. Fact.

Congratulations to those who’ve gotten accepted!

I live pretty far from NYC. Nothing came in the mail today. Are BOTH rejections and accepatnces being mailed PRIORITY?

Accepted!

But the financial aid is probably a no-go in comparison to other colleges. I’m not sure I’ll even visit, unfortunately.

Loyola Marymount Acceptance and Smith college fin aid freakout (they are missing a document from my father, apparently, and cannot determine my aid till he sends it >_<)

Nothing from dear old Barnard, but I’m making myself fall even more deeply in love with Smith and MoHo and worrying about paying for those wonderful schools to keep my mind busy.

I just want my internal hopes to get out of my system completely at this point.

Accepted with abysmal financial aid. Definitely not matriculating.

In WA, for those wondering. Didn’t expect to get it this early.

@kenzie1992

It seems like Smith gave you pretty terrible fin aid (MoHo did for me).

How have your other colleges done, as far as that? I totally understand your position of getting into great schools only to get the fiancial smake-in-the-face from them a moment later.

I will say congrats on Barnard, just because I think that’s quite an accomplishment, even if they want to be cheap about it.
:)

Congrats to all the people who got in!

I live in NYC, like 26 blocks from Barnard, and I didn’t get anything from Barnard yet… :(

@meanderer: Wellesley and Whitman both asked for around ~21k from me, when our EFC was originally 17k (which is already too expensive for my family). In comparison, Barnard and Smith both wanted ~28k.

I still haven’t gotten anything in central FL :(

Got in! Tons of financial aid!!!

Another round of congratulations for everyone who got in!

rejected…so excited for those who were accepted though!! and epizeuxis: that’s great that you got lots of financial aid too! that’s perfect!

it was so great getting to know all of you on cc and I know that whether you got in or not, you’ll be successful. All of you are such bright, unique people :)

Lorraine, I’m so sorry! You have been such a strong and positive voice here on CC, so supportive of everyone else – that it is a shame that you won’t be joining the Barnard class. Whatever college you do end up at is very, very lucky to have you. (And I think any college that turned you down, including Barnard, has made a huge mistake – but I do believe that things happen in life for a reason. Who knows? There may be some life-changing discoveries and adventures awaiting you at some school that you added to your list as a last-minute safety.).
