Girly Galentine’s Gathering - please help me plan

So, the bleak mid-winter is nearly upon us, and I want to have something to look forward to. I’d like to have a casual Happy Hour on Galentine’s Day (Friday, February 13th) for 12-20 women. Thinking a fun pink cocktail, apps, and a few small desserts (that would also be pink). I’m going to order some pink feather boas and Photo Booth props for pics. Set up a corner chair as a, “throne.”

Here’s my general invite wording:

“Wear your crown,

Wear some pink,

Please stop by,

And have a drink!”

I refer to myself as, “Queen Hoggirl (First name)” and call all my girlfriends, “Queen First Name.” That’s why I’m requesting crowns. No one will bat an eye at that.

Hit me up with fun ideas for a signature drink, appetizers, small desserts, decor ideas, maybe even party favors. I wouldn’t mind doing paper, snail mail invitations, but I’ve never used any online place to do those. I wouldn’t want any photos, just graphics. But, Idk how hard those sites are to navigate

Prosecco and Framboise (raspberry liqueur), possibly with a bit of lemon juice.

Cosmopolitans are pink.

Strawberry margaritas

I can keep going

French martinis are delicious. A friend us hosting galentines with Cuban food next month.

I don’t necessarily want a punch (I no longer have a punch bowl - I suppose I could by some glass pitchers), but not sure I want to be making individual cocktails. Thinking a batch something or other.

Though Prosecco and Champord could be made by guests themselves.

I love an Aperol Spritz or an Aperol Sour (Aperol, gin, pink grapefruit juice, lemon and simple syrup).

You can batch margaritas in a pitcher. Or any cocktail, almost, that doesn’t require it to be shaken, or topped up with something fizzy.

Pink Negronis would work too.

Cranberry curd tart would be a fun dessert as well.

An appetizer idea. The salmon is pink, the caviar is worthy of a queen. :person_with_crown:

I have not made these myself but saw another caviar “friendly” recipe today that made me think that something like this would be fun and special for your group.

I’ll add chocolate dipped strawberries (sort of shaped like a heart and definitely V-Day forward). Easy peasy to make.

Hmmm….12 to 20 friends….that’s about the right count for us here on CC, right?

We make what we call “Christmas cosmos” but they can be for whatever you want, and ingredients can be altered for as much or as little alcohol as you’d like. We use Deep Eddy’s (pink) grapefruit vodka, Cointreau, cran raspberry, and lime juice. You could also throw in some Spendrift grapefruit seltzer if you’d like, and when I’m making a similar drink in the summer I put a peeled grapefruit in the blender, along with all other ingredients and ice. We do them as shaker drinks, but you could also just make a batch of them and pour them over ice in a glass, or keep them in fridge so no ice needed.

ETA - I feel like you need at least a few Jelly Belly candies in pink, and probably some of those hard valentines candies we all probably got in elementary school.

You can order heart shaped pink and red macarons online (there are lots of sellers). Here’s one:

You can make chocolate covered strawberries with pink chocolate and edible glitter (both available to Michael’s. Or use the same chocolate/glitter on Oreo Truffles (one block of cream cheese, one bag of Oreas. Cream together. Chill. Roll into balls and dip).

For something savory, you can do a charcuterie board. THey sell little cookie cutters to make hearts out of some of the meat and cheese.

You can make cheese straws using ready-made puff pastry and shape into hearts.

If you want something non-alcoholic, Polor Pink Grapefruit Dry is a pretty pink and not too sweet. Angry Orchard (alcoholic) is also a pretty pink color.

It might be interesting to run it through ChatGPT and ask it for some recipes and signature cocktails.

Rose champagne! Champagne Billecart Salmon, brut rose! No mixing required, just pour a glass! Bubbles are always festive. Yes, it’s pricey, but what do the kids say? Treat yourself?

I used to make this salmon mousse all the time when we entertained. It’s a pretty pink.

Love this idea!

Don’t forget something like pink gingerale for the nondrinkers. I’m guessing that there are popup valentines/galentines bars that might be a good source of inspiration for you.

You could do this with a panna cotta type dessert

Happy Galentine’s Day!

My gathering is at 5:30 this afternoon, but I wanted to snap some pics to show y’all the setting.

Food isn’t overly fancy:

Spinach & artichoke dip, veggies w/hummus, charcuterie board, shrimp w/cocktail sauce, pink petit fours, and chocolate-covered strawberries. We are having pink Prosecco and Dirty Shirleys (one pitcher of virgin Shirleys and water, too) for drinks. I have small gift bags with chocolates, and I bought Photo Booth signs and pink heart-shaped sunglasses. Had to put a crown on my Razorback, too :crown: :two_hearts:
