Golden Globes 2018

They sure let Nicole talk for awhile - will see if that holds for others. She had me kind of choked up.

Love Marvelous Mrs. Maisel so happy to see Rachel Brosnahan win. Watch the series if you haven’t seen it yet.

Ditto Elisabeth Moss in Handsmaid’s Tale.

^^I have one more episode left of Mrs. Maisel. She is amazing - as is the series - just fully enjoyable.

OMG. Tonya Harding was there.

Yes I thought the same thing!

Wow Kirk Douglass!

Yay to Kirk Douglas!!!

I loved the whole opening, especially the HW and Spacey jokes.

Watching with H and S17. We don’t usually watch this sort of thing but we are enjoying it. I feel remiss as a parent, S17 was unfamiliar with Kirk Douglas, although he has heard of Spartacus. Some of the speeches have been better than others and I do appreciate how everyone is standing together, but I had the awful thought that tomorrow or the next day Tom Hanks or someone like that is going to be exposed as an abuser as well.

I have always felt sorry for Tonya Harding. Now, however, that she has seemingly admitted having foreknowledge of the attack, I may have to rethink my opinion.

So happy to see that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel won, as did Rachel Brosnahan. Totally deserved!

I AM SO HAPPY FOR AZIZ ANSARI!!!

Me too!!!

^^ I want to know his exact words bleeped out!

Off to google!!!

I think Aziz Ansari is funny. I saw him on SNL as a client of a law firm in a skit where he was SO happy that they got him $6K for basically being left for dead and then a white person came on and said they got him $1M for nothing. The skit stuck with me because that’s what I do for a living and I just thought he was a hoot. I have never seen him in anything else, but I would watch something.

That’s a great skit. Master of None is so smart. We binge-watch the moment it’s out. I watched the entire second season twice in 36 hours. So, yeah, I’m a fan.

So, honestly…is it worth watching? From this thread, it sounds like a lot of the, “Me too” stuff. While I support that, I would like to be entertained tonight, and I’m really not interested in hearing a litany of protests. That’s not why I’d want to watch this show.

Otherwise, I’ll watch a movie.

@techmom99 - Aziz Ansari is hilarious in Parks and Recreation with Amy Poehler.

Then you should probably skip it, busdriver. Oprah’s speech is a master class in a call to social justice.

It’s one of the best awards shows I’ve ever seen BECAUSE it is about the actors work…and more.

And as for Oprah, if you’re running, I’ll be there to vote. Can we do it now?
