I think Seth wants it to be Oprah for POTUS & Hanks for VP.
The all black dresses have grown in me. I think they look classy.
Ah I don’t mind listening to one social justice speech, but if the entire show is about the Harvey Weinstein stuff, that’s going to be dull.
I agree about the black dresses. My first thinking was it’s a way to be visibly supportive of a cause. But what I’ve found is that it amplifies their msgs. I wasn’t expecting that.
It’s been very entertaining. Oprah’s speech was one of the best speeches I have ever heard. Imagine having a leader who could speak and inspire like that. Even if you don’t watch the show be sure to watch the speech.

This night gives me hope that at least in the movie industry, times have changed and women really will be able to work without harassment.

It’s not. It’s about the awards, honestly. But kind of a moot point since it is almost over anyway.
My favorite part is the pointed comments from the female presenters that are probably not scripted/approved.
I just heard Oprah’s speech after seeing it trending (award shows are not my cup of tea).
I am sitting here bawling. Just bawling. Even in the 2000s, my story was dismissed because I accused a powerful man. I really, truly hope my daughters will face a different world.
Yep, Natalie Portman wins the night. Duly noted that the female director of the best comedy or musical winner didn’t get nominated.
@BunsenBurner - I have heard of Parks and Recreation but have never seen it. I may look it up now because that guy, Aziz Ansari, was just SO adorable. Kind of reminds me of a younger, edgier Kal Penn.
Oprah’s speech was inspiring. I would vote for her for president.
Parks and Rec is good and funny, but Master of None is good and funny and insightful and ground-breaking.
I liked the comment about the men sharing their salaries with their female costars.
Wow. The one on the list I don’t really want to see.
Until a few days ago, I’d never heard of it.
Love the new mantra, “time’s up!”. It applies to so many things
Anddd… the best part about moving to the West Coast – it is over at 8 pm!
Hey, @intparent - it is now being repeated!!!
I did not watch the Golden Globes but did look at the dresses. Everyone looked beautiful. It was so interesting to see how different the dresses were all in one color.
Allison Janney’s dress was really pretty. So were many, many others.
