<p>Folks: First, I think Xiggi is dead on, and I don’t think he was being cryptic.</p>
<p>Second: the post was pretty obvious. And it’s still available to read. Marite was not being thin-skinned, and certainly never needed to be coddled–in fact, given the circumstances, that’s a pretty ironic thing to worry about.</p>
<p>Best wishes to you all–I might hang around to share my experiences with specific schools, or transfering, or stuff I’ve gleaned from working at a college support program, but it’s definitely time to reduce my presence here.</p>
<p>I’ve been here a while and still don’t understand what is going on. Does this have something to do with all the sad posts lately (like the cheating, the posts by bio, the woman with the daughter that is devasted over having to go to Rice, etc, etc)??</p>
The college application process is chock full of raw emotions and frustrations. Anyone who has been through it knows that. Why should this forum be sterile and unreflecting of the true experience?</p>

<p>Garland - if the there was a particular offensive post that was obvious, than I must not have read it. I went back through my own posts first to see if it was me (was it??) Then I went through Marite’s posts looking for incendiary threads. But she has so many posts, I may not have seen everything. Could someone please tell those of us who are clueless us what the thread was?</p>
<p>I am a little addicted to, and a little in love with, cc. I wasn’t around for the apparent “good old days.” And we can’t go back there. </p>
<p>I find there is so much great advice and support here. And some “lively” discussion on controversial topics, whether college or non-college. Maybe someone gets a little hot under the collar sometimes, and maybe another someone responds in kind, but I don’t have to play - or read - if it bothers me. Exclamation points? In real life, I hate them. But here? from berurah and yemaya and other less-expert ! users? I !!! </p>
<p>Please, everyone, let’s not allow this thread to deteriorate into finger-pointing (even if it is at groups, not individuals) as to who/what has made cc not as good as it once was.</p>
<p>It is wonderful, imho. With all its warts.</p>
<p>Oh, and cliques? :eek: Please! No cliques! I am still trying to get over whether I am in the right clique at my golf course or not! I don’t want any cliques here :p</p>

<p>I was on these boards last Spring. It wasn’t always pretty. I recall one particular spat between TWO longtime (not me), well-regarded posters that really surprised me. I’ll spare them the re-hash (so, don’t ask…but they were male and female). In the end, one apologized to the other…and I’m sure they’ve mended fences (as they co-exist well today). There were others…I said something stupid to Garland (he might not recall, but he slapped me (softly) and I realized my error. I won’t name other names, but some us are “too soon” forgetting about last Spring. </p>
<p>I think we should call for a CC day off. Everyone agree not to post tomorrow…Saturday…!!</p>
<p>When we return, we should all be refreshed and appreciative of what we have here. </p>
<p>I will not post after midnight tonight and will continue to refrain until after midnight on Sat night. </p>
<p>No pressure. Just my own person choice. If anyone else wants to join…that’s their choice.</p>

You will become a senior member at 1,000, and then there will be little stopping you from the most selective parties with the most accomplished CCers. As a mere member, I am just applying to community parties, but once I reach 1,000, I will apply for a transfer so that I can go to mootmom’s top-ranked party!!!</p>
