Good schools for intnl students (no aid reqd) and a feb deadline

Hey, I’m kinda late finishing my apps due to some problems. What are some good schools with a late-ish deadline I could apply to if I don’t need any financial aid? Preferably no TOEFL required either (waste of time, that test!)… I have a 1970 SAT (660M, 610CR, 700W)… Currently applying to Purdue, UT Austin and Wisconsin-Madison.

You’re in at Purdue.

Yeah, but I’m not a big fan of Indiana :P

Also does this apply to me? I’m an Indian and was schooled completely in English.

So I can rush my application to Oberlin without waiting for my TOEFL scores :)

How is Penn State University in general?

Thanks…

Penn State University Park: Doubtlessly a huge party school and said to be not very rigorous academically.
Definitely a fun place to be :D

Ooh… sad… forget it then… thanks… I wish I had started applying a bit earlier atleast :(

Hmm… I can rush an application to UIUC too…

Lol I can’t edit the earlier post after 20 mins…

I have been schooled completely in English since like kindergarten so is it still necessary for me to take the TOEFL? I have a 610 CR score. I e-mailed the UT Austin admissions office a couple of days back after this but haven’t received a reply yet. I’ll be really glad if I don’t have to take that silly test and waste $150.

Can’t find anything to support this on the Wisconsin-Madison website. I guess I’ll email them asap then and hope they waive it off.

don’t worry most public univ. are very liberal with their toefl rules and a above 600 cr qualifies you for most of them.

Ok cool, thanks. I’m just worried coz I’m already applying quite late and don’t wanna have any more problems.

USC has January 10 and you should have a decent shot, based on ur SAT scores.

Yeah, I was looking at USC too. I guess I’ll be applying to USC along with the other 3 asap. I just hope I get some clarification about TOEFL soon from UT and Wisconsin coz I’ll have to register soon for the 5th Jan test.

Hey guys hows Ohio State University? It’s listed as a Public Ivy :S and has a feb 1st deadline. I’ve heard its not very rigorous and selective though.

Maybe investing $40 might be a good idea: www. collegepro wler .com

You could read up on “inside” information about academics, the social life etc at Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, UT Austin, Wisconsin-Madison and many other colleges and universities.
