good shot for an ooser?

I’m applying for precommerce from NJ. I go to a public magnet school. All courses are considered honors college level, but no APs. School doesn’t rank.

Soph UW GPA 94.6

Junior UW GPA 95.75

Senior UW GPA so far 95.25

SAT 730 Math, 740 Verbal, 690 Writing

SAT II 770 US History, 710 Math II

Extra cirriculars
-newspaper sports editor, a few small awards for articles I’ve written, chosen and attended a conference in Atlanta for newspaper as well
-math club president and team captain
-multicultural club event manager for our yearly festival
-NHS member
-Tutor homeless kids 3 hours a week
-Worked full time 2 summers for the US Army in a business management office

Won a few awards for newspaper articles I wrote, and also won a competitive bodyboarding contest (kind of different I guess so I put it down).
Only other small bonus I guess is that my counselor had a son that went to UVA and she has really been pushing me on it saying she’d write me a great letter of rec. So do you guys think I have a good shot?

sure why not. youve got the grades, scores, etc. ECs are not bad. it will prolly come down to how many ppl from NJ apply…i know that a lot of people from the east coast apply, moreso than midwest/west coast/southwest america. if it comes down to a regional question, you will get in through good essays. if you are a newpaper editor, that shouldnt be a problem. you got a pretty good shot.
