got assigned to a single room...

so i got assigned to a single room at rogers and did not request a single room. Is there any way to change your housing assignment? Thanks

This exact thing happened to me last year – assigned to a single in Rogers. If you email the freshman housing office (not sure of the address, but you should be able to find it), you can request to be put on a wait list for room changes. I just told them I would be fine with literally any big dorm that had doubles. I got placed in Sargent. I would say you should keep an eye on the Facebook group. There will be a few people in doubles who will likely want to move into a single. But, of course, no guarantees and you may just have to stick it out in Rogers. Good luck!

You should email them. I was able to get a room change last year.

how likely is it they give u the room change?

more likely if you ask than if you don’t!!! :-)

i already emailed them. When will they notify me if they do change my room?

I think what happened with mine was that around the end of August/beginning of September, I got an email saying that I needed to approve my “updated housing contract,” which reflected the room change.

How did you find out you were assigned to a single room? I think I was… but I really wanted to be, I just didn’t request it because I didn’t want to be needy haha. When I go to check my living assignments and click on “roomate” it says “no records found” in red. Does this mean I’m living alone?

nu2student, i saw that you posted yesterday. if they don’t notify you by the end of the week, call them or email them again.

and how likely is it? well…you will just have to wait and see won’t you

I would actually advise against repeated calling/emailing. What they basically told me last year was, “if a room opens up, we’ll let you know…otherwise, you’re SOL” so I’m not sure how much it would help if you kept asking the housing office. Good luck though – hopefully it all works out!
