One of our kids is flying on the 10th, and the other on the 14th. I’m going to be pretty annoyed if these travel plans get screwed up.

I’m more worried about the kid flying domestic on an airline with one flight per day from their airport.

I’m not as worried about the kid flying internationally.

But this does really suck.

All was great at Nashville yesterday. Then I read how it was hit.

Having your money delayed is one thing.

Having the President saying we don’t have to give you back pay - is another.

This can crush tourism and business travel.

We pay congress but not these folks?

I’d assume morning flights are safest but who knows.

My kids flew out of Vegas today and had no problems. I imagine that will change as the shutdown continues towards Thanksgiving….

Only very minor issues for my whole group yesterday. Two of us had 15 minute delays neither due to air traffic issues. We will see how it goes coming home. Our flights were(and will be) in the morning.

We fly out of Boston to ATL on Friday 10/17. Really hoping there are no issues. I HATE air travel with a passion, so anything that adds stress to the mix adds a lot of anxiety for me. :sob:

Family member flew from one major US city to another couple of days ago. Easiest flight ever is the report.

All smooth sailing from ATL this morning.

My favorite airport used to be Austin, where the TSA made a display of ‘Here are the weapons we have confiscated this month” where you’ve got box-cutters, all sorts of guns including bump stocks and homemade machine guns, samurai swords, etc. Now my favorite airport is every single one of them because of all the employees who continue to show up, do their jobs, keep the public safe…. They’ve got to be feeling lousy about the life choices they have made. And yet- they show up.

Boston’s Logan airport is short one runway as it is closed for repairs. As a result, there have been delays every day for at least a couple of weeks. We flew into Logan a couple of days ago and our flight was ready to be on time, but Logan told our departing airport not to send us for an hour so as to spread out arriving flights.

We re-entered the country after flying in Wednesday and the passport control agent appeared to be miserable, mumbling his questions in a monotonous tone. We had to ask him to repeat more than once. Not getting paid will do that to your morale, I guess.

Not getting paid AND being portrayed in the media as some kind of leech, working for the federal government (i.e. working for all of us) instead of– what, being a crypto entrepreneur making it easy for folks to pay for and transport fentanyl? Or being a real estate developer making millions of dollars building apartments that middle class people can’t afford to live in?

It is so sad how the federal workforce is being demonized right now.
