Yes, military is likely getting paid out of the Pentagon budget. But what about the Federal Marshall’s who keep judges, juries and witnesses safe at our courthouses, what about ATF agents who get sent to disarm a bomb or grenade, what about the FBI? These are our fellow citizens who continue to show up for work with no paycheck. Will these people get back pay eventually? Previous shutdowns indicate yes. But for all these “essential workers” how do you put gas in the car and keep the lights on with no certainty about when you’ll get a paycheck?
