GPA confusion

Currently, I retain a 3.4 unweighted GPA. Evidently, these numbers certainly demean my self-esteem by the second. Therefore I plan on endeavoring toward straight A’s. Our school does a 4x4 block scheduling system. How high would a 4.0 raise my GPA if I earnestly earned all A’s the whole year?

Sigh, please.

Doesn’t it depend on how many classes you’ve taken previously? Like, 16 classes (over your high school career) average out to that 3.4. So, getting all A’s for a year would give you eight 4.0’s to add, correct? So having taken more classes would give those A’s less impact, but having taken fewer classes would make them more important.

(I’m on a weighted system, so I hope this assumption is correct.)

GPA is not everything. Colleges will be happy to see freshman year B’s turn into A’s.

Actually I do retain a couple C’s…
