GPA

Hey, i am currently a Junior. I know this year’s grades count the most, but my school doesn’t offer very many aps.
I am looking into prestigious schools and I really want to boost my GPA right now it’s a 3.95. but i want to make it pass 4.0 via aps. I know many good colleges’ incoming freshman have an average gpa of about 4.2 or something so what shall I do to boost my gpa even when my school doesn’t offer many aps ?

If I were you, I’d take as many challenging classes as possible, regardless of AP status or not. On applications, your counselor will have to check a box on rigor of your schedule, so if you do the most difficult classes, you have a better chance of getting an admission counselor’s attention. Plus, many times admission counselors will check the number of APs your school offers, and they’ll allow less on a schedule if they see that your school doesn’t offer many.
If you really want APs, regardless of whether or not your school offers them, you can usually ask to take some online. Talk to your GC about that option
And of course, GPA is not determined by AP classes alone! Make sure you have adequate time to study–and since you are aiming for, what I assume, are straight A’s, hold yourself to a high standard and set goals. Good luck!!

not sure how your school calculates GPA, but let’s set the record straight: if you have any grade other than an A on your transcript, you don’t have a 4.0. simple as that.
