I’m a sophomore at a fairly prestigious high school, it’s top ten in the nation and am currently taking AP calculus. I’m failing and tried switching out, but it is apparently not allowed as calculus honors is below pre calculus which i took over the summer online. I’m requesting to switch into stats honors, but doubt it will be approved. How badly will this grade affect me, as I am in the second nine weeks with another F, thus most likely making my final grade an F. I’m an average student with majority B’s and a couple A’s. This is my lowest grade, and will obviously kill my gpa as well as chances of getting into a decent college. I will probably do a grade forgiveness, but how greatly will this improve my chance of getting into a decent college or university? On a realistic scale, is it even a possibility for me to get into a school out of state? NYU or even in my home state, schools such as UF or UM? Before this grade I was even hoping for a chance to study abroad in England, but I’ve basically lost all hope in that. I am taking five other AP classes in which I currently have 4 B’s and an A in. All of the B’s being around 87% to 88%. What’s recommended for someone in my scenario?
