Graduate Film School- How many should I apply to?

I am unsure of how many graduate schools I should be applying to. I have my heart set on Columbia University since I visited in the summer.
Native New Yorker. I am a senior at University of Hawaii. Currently studying Multimedia and have a 3.75 in my field.
Columbia University reps told me my ability to tell a story is what will get me accepted. I am not too worried about my personal statement or ability to write a creative screenplay. I know CU’s film program is not as popular as NYU, USC, or UCLA. So I think I have an advantage.

However, I am told to apply to as many as I can. I’ve been rejected from some of these top film schools(USC,UCLA,FSU) as an undergraduate so part of me doesn’t want to be rejected for a second or third time. Now I am just applying just to increase my chances but kind of think it’s a waste of money to apply to a school like NYU or USC. Is three schools enough? :p

Considering:
Columbia U
Chapman U
Loyola Marymount
NYU
USC

Didn’t make my list:
UCLA
Boston U
Florida State
University of Arizona
