Grammy Awards

Anyone watching the Grammy’s? I’m hoping for some good performances.

Please, no spoilers - we don’t get to watch it until 8 pm Pacific time!! So unfair!

Good point—no discussing winners/losers until tomorrow :)

Bunsen, I’d stay off this thread!

I liked Lady Gaga’s performance. Just saw her interview on “60 Minutes.” She’s interesting.

I love this Miranda Lambert song.

Justin Bieber is adorable. Will Smith’s kid is adorable too. I could watch Usher dance all night.

^Did you notice how Bieber ended the Usher song? Rather than sing, “Oh, my God”, he sang “Oh my gosh”. :)

Lady Gaga is a trip. Did you notice the stubby horns and pokey shoulders? Well, I suppose it’s hard not to notice.

Am I the only one who thought Lady Gaga sounded like she was almost singing Madonna’s “Express Yourself”?

The ladies who sang the tribute to Aretha are all amazing. It’s unfortunate that so many of today’s music stars really can’t sing and without Autotuning, they’d be lost. Not Jennifer, Christina, Yolanda, Martina and Florence. What a way to start the show!

I sure hope Lady A sings “I Need You Now.”

ETA: Yes! I totally crush on that guy.

I really like Celo’s song, too … it’s so catchy. I liked Gwyneth Paltrow, too, and enjoyed the episode she did on ‘Glee’ with that song.

Alwaysamom, I soooo agree. The Aretha tribute was great and those women could all sing. A lot of the other music so far is not so much my thing and I am not up on a lot of the current performers. I have a feeling that Aretha tribute may be the highlight for me, t hough the show is not over. I missed the last 30 min. cause my D called home (she does not watch TV), but I know she would have loved the Aretha tribute too!

I didn’t like that Celo performance with the muppets. I thought it was stupid. Of course–this is just my personal
opinion.

The Aretha tribute was terrific!

I liked the Celo performance. And Katy Perry. And loving this trio singing “Jolene.” What can I say? I’m an easy audience.

Well, Norah Jones CAN sing. Someone else on earlier, I forget the name but she had a weird hairdo, seemed like she was yelling. (she was dressed kinda like a waitress)

In my opinion, the women who have performed are FAR better than the men. When Bob Dylan first started, I think they were having sound difficulties…which was fine.

I like the Cee-Lo song. He (Cee-Lo) (Gnarles Barkley) knows how to put out a catchy tune or two.

So that’s who Lady Antebellum is. I didn’t know they were a group. Strange name.

I have to chuckle seeing Cee Lo singing his “Forget” You song with muppets. Do people not realize what the actual lyrics are to this song?

I liked the Jolene performance, too, although I must say that John Mayer is no longer the cute, curlyhaired boy he once was.

I might have to call in sick tomorrow…I feel like I’ve got a serious case of Bieber fever.
