Great....more snow!

Dkitty I agree. Missouri just got another 6 inches, making it 29 since January. High today 10, windchill -18. We are done also. Some schools have been out 15 days since the first of the year and makeups will be well into June.

It’s sort of sunny here. Somehow we got two more inches of snow overnight…surprise! It’s a balmy 22. Hope the snow for Sunday to Monday blows out to sea!

It’s 18 and snowing here. I don’t mind the snow since it generally is light compared to you all in the middle and east coast. I can even deal with the cold. But the wind off of the Columbia River is positively arctic. And the furnace doesn’t seem to be responding. Sigh. Glad we have a wood stove.

We got a sprinkle of rain in so cal. - thanks for sending it over!

Has been snowing most of the morning here in Dallas. Very pretty :)

Ten minutes before school starts this morning we get a call from Spykid saying he is very ill and wants to come home. Why he didn’t say something before he drove the 45 minutes to school with his sister, is a mystery. School has early release today at 11:30 due to snow, but he can’t make it that long. So Max heads out to pick him up and what car does he take? The AWD Tundra? The AWD Pilot? No. The 14 year old Camry. Expecting a call to pick them all up now.

I think it would be warmer if it snowed.
They are expecting a little snow, south of us this weekend, but we are headed north to see D.
It will be plenty cold where she is for me. Plus we will be touring the Vanishing Ice exhibit where she is interning, so I doubt we will feel any warmer inside!

New England, close enough to the coast. They cancelled school the night before and tho we got whatever number of inches, it wasn’t too bad. Very pretty. Most of the snow here this season has been powdery, easy to shovel (really, just push out of the way.)

But what’s bad is having some warmer days, over freezing (35 can feel like sweater weather,) then having to go back to this. By Feb, itt makes it feel so much colder. Unfair.

Before I moved to CA (mostly Southern, back here 20+ years now,) everyone said how much we’d hate the mostly uniform weather there. NOPE.

We have snow and ice here in the Ohio Valley. No school Monday (5" snow overnight), early release Tuesday (snow/freezing rain in afternoon), no school Wednesday due to ice from previous day, regular schedule today…

^^^ I do have to say that our weather here in So. Calif. has been a bit monotonous. It is rarely below the mid-70’s during the day, and we have had no rain at all this year. Finally today we are supposed to get a sprinkle and it is in the 60’s. I often wish we had more seasons, but I am certainly not complaining after reading the posts here. I really feel for all of you! One D is in NYC, and one S is in Denver (-3 yesterday) so we like to send them pictures of our sunny days here, just to rub it in!

I love the idea of kids working from home to count as a school day. However we are in the iced area and had no power yesterday, so no way to get online to get assignments, or to work on them if they require online work. On a normal snow day, that would be great! I think we are up to 7 missed days so far.

We have had very little snow here in the PNW, which is somewhat surprising. However, there have been some really cold days, like today. It is almost noon, but it is still 22 degrees, and that is not so common here! I feel your pain, dear CCers.

Why is your cat sitting on your stove!!!

takeitallin - we do that too (our daughter is in Philly). we had a little rain this morning on central coast maybe it will make it down to you. I heard it is snowing in Oregon, maybe they will send their storm to us later today.

I send pix of the snow and where D2 is, she sends back pictures of deeper snow.

PhotoOp - LOL! It is my D’s adopted cat in her rented apartment in Central Asia (this explains why the stove is so tiny). I took the pic when I visited her about a year ago. One morning, while we were eating the scrambled eggs D made for breakfast, her cat’s dumpster genes made him climb up on the stove. To the cat’s disappointment, there was no food, so he decided to plop his rear end on the still slightly warm burner.

^ Awww… well that kills my hopes that it was a beautiful mutant cat.

(Still a beautiful and clearly very lucky/spoiled kitty.)

Bunsen, we have a cat like that! Came home from the Peace Corps. Yikes.

Photoshop- it just started raining here too-finally! Maybe I can actually use my fireplace!

Just snapped a pic for my mom…

It will be interesting to see where the delivery man decides to put the package I am expecting… I guess my fiance didn’t think the porch was important. I’m not sure the front door opens anymore.
