I know of a few good schools that are in really nice, enjoyable cities, but I was wondering if anyone else knows of any great colleges (not as hard to get into as the Ivies, but similar) that are in cities that have a lot to do and are entertaining.

Also, do you know of any colleges that are simply not in fun cities, and there is nothing to do outside of the university?

the University of MN isn’t even close to as hard to get into as an ivy, but it has an AWESOME area of town surrounding it. it’s like the campus spreads way into the city. it’s awesome.

Washington DC is no NYC or Boston, but if you’ve got a political bent about you then there isn’t a better place to go to school. It’s got Georgetown, George Washington, American, and Catholic, among others.

UM- Ann Arbor. My Father went here, the whole city revolves around the University
UT Austin- Not so much revolve around the campus anymore but…it is still a young people city, the size of the city is too big to revolve around the campus, but it is a huge part of the city. and being the biggest campus in the US makes the university itself a mini city.
UC Davis-Much like Ann Arbor
A&M College Station- a city called ‘college station’ spells it out…Its probably a little boring…but undoubtedly a university town.
SMU-it lies in a city called University park, although the address says Dallas, that is only because the city is so small. The whole city revolves around SMU, the metro doesn’t…but the city does…like college station…the city’s name ‘university park’ spells it out for you…
MIT- total college town
I’m sure they’re a few other I can’t think of.
