Greek rushing makes me regret UVA entirely

The Greek process is completely rigged and unfair. People will say it’s not, but as someone experiencing this process–it definitely is. Regret coming here entirely, especially as an out of state student. I feel isolated and cheated. If you’ve had a dream of going Greek for a long time- don’t chose UVA. It’s an unfair game !!! Already filling out my transfer apps now !!!

Or you could build a social life and have fun with the thousands of UVA students who don’t go Greek. Did you go to college to rush, or to get a great education? I have no connection to UVA, but you don’t have to be Greek to have a great college experience. Also… it is probably equally “rigged” everywhere.

lol that entitlement complex tho

Greek life is cliquey, petty, superficial and irritating. Go out and find some friends the old fashioned way-- by not buying them.

According to this, only 35% of students are involved in Greek life. There are plenty of kids who don’t participate. My kids have found other groups and organizations to occupy their time and have been very happy.I’m sure if you try, you can do. You might also watch last week’s episode of The Middle:)

You thought it wouldn’t be rigged? That’s kind of the point to most of the frats/sororities. Legacies first and then people with lots of recommendations from quality legacies and a tiny percentage of people who don’t have either of those. If you do transfer and want to go through rush again find people to write you recs otherwise the odds are not in your favor.
