Has the email been sent out for this program? I’m pretty sure I haven’t received anything and I’m freaking out because I really want to get into this program!

Qualifying Math Scores:
A score of 600 or above on the mathematics section of the COLLEGE Board SAT I Reasoning Test Level I, IC (Calculator), II, or IIC (CALCULATOR)
A score of 30 or above on the American COLLEGE Testing Mathematics Test
A score of 3 or above on the College Board Advanced Placement Mathematics examination (AB or BC) or Statistics examination.

I have a 34 on the ACT Math section so I would have thought I would have gotten an email if they were sent out already.

If you’ve gotten this email, when did you receive it? Or if not… does that mean they aren’t out yet and I still might get one?

I got a 710 in SAT math, so I am also qualified and I haven’t received the email yet. I remember reading somewhere that we should get the email later in the next couple of months, so don’t worry if you haven’t gotten anything yet.

Hmmmm… I got an email about a month ago from the business department, and there was a link on it to the URL you posted above just giving information about the green light program. Maybe he / she is just talking about that. The invitation to join should come soon, sometime before registration. :]

I emailed the Bus Adm advisor regarding the Green Light program. They said that it is not
an official program but that eligible Bus Adm students were sent and email asking them if
they were interested in being part of the program. They also said that the emails were only sent to “eligible” freshman based on Math SAT/ACT scores. My D had the required scores but
she never received an email or if she did, she didn’t realize what it was. Possibly a survey?

They also said that at SOAR the student would find out that they were in the Green Light program. She attended SOAR and there was no mention of the program.

Has anyone received the email or survey asking them to be involved in the Green Light program? Has anyone attended SOAR and found out that they were in the Green Light program? I was alway curious what class was “Green Light” for the freshman fall quarter.

My S attended SOAR, but the “student advisor” he met with said that she “was pretty sure he was in it because of the classes on his schedule” (which included stats and a business class). He has not gotton an e-mail, but i think they also told him he should get one soon. If you download the Greenlight Business flowchart, you can see the difference from the regular business flowchart.

Thanks, I looked at the Green Light flow chart and although it listed Stat 251 it only listed Economics without a course name or number. My D was placed in Stat 251 and ECON 221.
She was not placed in a BUS class but I wasn’t sure if they were just trying to
have her work in her SUPPORT courses or that maybe she was in the program and never notified. What classes was your son placed in? My D only has 12 units but many BusAdm students were placed in 15-17 units.

My son went to SOAR and there was a different flowchart in his folder.

2009-2011 Business Admin. (Rev 6/8/10) I could send it to you if you send me a PM

Same here, he said they didn’t mention Greenlight at SOAR, although he qualified, got the email, but he wasn’t sure about it and didn’t respond.

Guessing it is a new regular Business flowchart. There is no mention of Greenlight on it, however it is printed on green paper! The major diff. between old 2007-2009 flowchart is the addition of Bus 221,(fall), Bus 222 (winter), Bus 207(spring) and B2 and B3 GE’s moved to soph and junior years.

Greenlight, according to website, has Greenlight Econ, Bus 391, Bus 214.

That’s all I have. He may call his advisor, but his rotation is 8 and he doesn’t think he will be able to change anything, so he may just wait.

A friend of mine was at SOAR with her son who made it into the GreenLight Program and is attending CP because that program sounded so good. Someone she spoke to seemed to be downplaying the program this year and not really answering her questions. It sounds like the perks of the program may not be happening…definitely call someone to find out more.

Yeah, it seems like they will be exposing all students to the Business curriculum by taking the Business Support and Major courses the first year and spreading out the GE"S to pair with upper level Business course in the future.

My son’s schedule for Fall: ANT202, STAT252,ENGL134,ECON 221, 17 credits. He thought he would have a lighter schedule fall term bec. of AP credit, but I think it is better to get started.

They also suggested taking Bus 200, a one credit class in special topics. (on the new flowchart). Meets one day, but that would make 18 credits for him.
