Grill Master- not!

My parent surprised me last night with a cool portable, stainless, propane grill. I guess its a camping type grill, fastens like a suitcase, fits on a tabletop. They gave me all the tools, etc. I’ve never had a grill. Honesty I love grilled food but thought it was such a hassle. I thought you either had to have one of those expensive monsters that you see on HGTV or a small charcoal grill. Didnt know there was a small, convenient grill.

Anyway they taught me the basics, and I cooked steaks for our dinner. But thats all I know how to grill. Not to get too complicated but I’m wondering if you can share simple, easy grill recipes or methods with me? Do you grill much? Whats your favorite?

Someone last night told me about skinning peaches, grilling them and putting a scoop of ice cream in it , call it dessert. That level of simple…

Now I’m hungry!

I put anything/everything on the grill. A little salt and pepper on a boneless/skinless chicken breast - cooks fast! Cut it up and toss over a garden salad - YUM. I have done the peaches before - but I left the skins on and they were delicious. Happy grilling!!!

skins on sounds more practical. Grill it skin side down?

Grill it on both sides; otherwise it won’t cook through!

There are a lot of excellent, easy grilling cookbooks, most notably Bobby Flay’s Grill It! or Boy Meets Grill. Just go to any bookstore or library.

Store-bought Italian dressing makes great marinade for chicken when you are in a hurry and have no time to make your own marinade.

shrimp! put them on a skewer, maybe a little olive oil and they’re done in a couple minutes.
