Guaranteed Admission to university once you met the MIN Requirement.. Real??

<p>Hi all,</p>

<p>I am a Canadian Student taking my OSSD now. I happened to chance upon Columbia Int College and found out about their Dual Admission.</p>

<p>Benefits of Dual Admission
Students who apply for the Dual Admission program will:</p>

<p>Be guaranteed a spot in their program of choice at their desired university when requirements are met
Receive a conditional Letter of Acceptance from their desired university
Receive assistance in meeting university admission requirements
Receive special scholarships set by the university
Receive special waivers on test scores or academic averages set by the university</p>

<p>Is it too good to be true - just meet the requirement and I can get a place in their partner uni? </p>

<p>Isn’t it unfair to other students from other schools?</p>

<p>My parents are thinking of a transfer to that school because of these benefits. However, I’m in this private school that’s smaller in school size - good AP track record and OSSD history. Should I continue to stay in my current school or transfer?</p>

<p>But by doing that - wouldn’t I ‘lose’ a placing to CIC students just because the school got special r/s w universities.</p>

<p>All those schools (except U of A) are pretty easy to get into anyway…</p>

<p>If I were you the first thing I would do is contact some of the Universities on the list and get their view of this. It may not be quite as straight forward as it sounds. As a parent I can see why this sounds great but I also have a hard time believeing that this can give you</p>
