"Guaranteed Transfer Option"

Indigo, I haven’t recieved an email either, along with my friend who also sent in his grades past March 15th because of the quarter system. That was per Ian’s instructions.

I don’t think we should worry quite yet, it’s probably reasonable that given the forest’s worth of paper sifting through that one office each day, there’s a good chance that they just haven’t gotten to yours. I wish they did give us some sort of early confirmation, though.

diehldun, about that “…are delighted to learn of your interest in the university” bit, I agree with Dr_Mom. GT’s are quite a small group you know, especially next to the entire applicant body. That email is the universal response to pretty much anything that goes through the admissions office.

Though everything I’m seeing quoted here so far recently sounds like form letter kinds of stuff, I can totally understand someone who might be dissecting every word Cornell puts out at this point. It’s been a stressful year for you all. Hopefully, you’ve all had a good year at your current schools, too.

diehldun–hang in there! From all the posts I’ve read on the board, ILR sounds very reasonable and accommodating in their approach to this GT thing. Cornell wants students it offers GTs to come to Cornell, or they wouldn’t have given you the GT offer in the first place. I understand the stress you’re feeling right now, though.

what do most ILR’s pursue?

Does anyone know the class requirments for AEM guaranteed transfer?

northsouth–They should have sent the course requirements with your GT letter. If you’ve lost track of the information, they would likely send it again if you asked.

It’s already April 9th, but Cornell has not updated the application status page yet.

WTC–My S said the same thing. His hasn’t been updated yet either.

Same here, too. Nothing has changed yet.

Hey I know im like a year late but I also got a guaranteed transfer and even though I understand this great option, I’m still thinking it’s too good to be true that I actually have a spot since I did meet the requirement of making above a 3.0 GPA (3.67). I’m still waiting for when they will release admissions decisions and I am very anxious right about now. Oh and CALS, HC, and ILR are not the only ones that offer guaranteed transfer options - Arts and Sciences does too, because that’s where I got mine from. So if there’s anyone that can fill me in on more like approximately when they’ll give out admissions decisions and explaining more of the guaranteed transfer option, that would be great!

oh wait i guess im not a year late…i had only noticed the first page of this thread…geez there’s 44! i’ll look through to see what others wrote…and yeah they still haven’t updated the Admissions website for admissions decisions…you wouldn’t believe how many times I have gone to the Cornell website. I even know what housing (if we get to choose) and meal plan and classes I would like to get even though they still haven’t said anything yet…

…waiting…anxiously…some more…

me again… did everyone already get like emails giving usernames and passwords to check their application status, because I haven’t received ANYTHING yet…that’s why im anxious and worried too

^ hey, i haven’t received anything back either…wht’s going on? i heard that the transfer processing center is still processing apps, so it might be that they still haven’t got to our apps. i hope we hear back soon, at least some emails.

lavendergraces, have you been in constant/continuous communication with your GT counselor?

In any event, don’t worry. The status page (as of five minutes ago) still has not been updated with any changes yet. It really doesn’t matter, though, because Cornell has already told us to expect to hear back from them (regarding decisions) around mid-late April.

Hi, lavendergraces–You do know there’s more to the GT than just maintaining a certain GPA, right? (Well, at least that’s true for (most of?) the colleges discussed on this thread). I think it depends on the college as to when to expect decisions. ILR may be mid- to late April if that’s what diehldun was told, for example, but the other colleges might be later than that. I agree, though, that the automated business of keeping track of forms, etc. may really, in the end, not really relate too much to the GT candidates.

I also got a GT offer from the college of arts and sciences. Since I put undecided as my major on my freshmen application, the only required courses that I have to take are 2 writing courses from 2 semesters. That’s what Robin Perry, who is the one in charge of GT in the college of arts and sciences, told me back in last spring.

Lavendergraces, I’m sorry, yeah remember that each school has its own dates, criteria, etc.

But boy, they really must be backed up processing everything! We’re well past the “check by April 7”, and the site is really slow for me…

I haven’t received anything yet either.

Hey, I’m new to these boards and I am NOT a GT, but a first-time transfer applicant. Reading this thread has given me a great deal of information, which is great because I am anxiously awaiting my admission decision to ILR.

I think the stress from this application process might kill me… Some days I feel great about it, somedays I’m scared. But I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Hmm…no news yet, huh? You’re supposed to check back after Monday, and it’s now Friday. And are we still thinking this is just to find out if they got all your paperwork? Maybe some of you will get decisions by the time you hear anything more; who knows.

We’re driving over to Ithaca this weekend for dinner (they have tons of good restaurants, if you haven’t heard that by now) and a movie. I’ll wave at the campus for all of you when I go by!

Hang in there! And welcome to the new people on this thread!

Dr_Mom, have fun (family going along too?) in Ithaca! Is Ithaca close to where you live?

I remember over winter break, we ate at the “Mahogany Grill” for lunch, which was delicious; the restaurant was just as beautiful too. Afterwards we walked around for sightseeing… fond memories!

I do agree, it seems as though by the time the site is further “updated”, some people will begin to get decision phone calls from the office already…
