I confess…we watch Project Runway, and America’s next top model…yes…and the reruns

okay, and I tivo design star…

I confess…we watch Project Runway, and America’s next top model…yes…and the reruns

okay, and I tivo design star…

I love the Apprentice and have to watch the reruns late at night to escape all the crap I get from H and 4 sons - (ack-not a “Donald” among them)

Project Runway fan here, too. And American Idol. And, oh yeah, Top Chef. Sigh, my H thinks it’s nuts, totally doesn’t get the attraction.

yeah, and we are supposed to think baseball is all that

Top Chef- loved it

hope Michael is in the top 3

I used to think that reality tv is a major waste of time. But my tv junkie son kept talking about, among other shows, The Amazing Race. Eventually, my husband and I started to watch it with him on occasion and we are now hooked on the show. We watch the old shows in reruns on the game show network (altho now it seems they have taken the reruns off of the air). We traveled a lot (before kids) and enjoy seeing the different places they travel and how the contestants handle the challenges of the travel as well as get along as a team. H and I are always discussing how we would handle the challenges if we were competing on the show and how quickly we would get eliminated from the race. One bungee jumping challenge and I’d be out. Editing of the show is very good.

And now, I’m also a Project Runway fan. As a kid, I wanted to be a fashion designer (a goal long abandoned). I love everything about the show and I’m constantly amazed at how talented so many of the young designers are.

But this is my limit. I refuse to get hooked on any other reality tv.

I’m a Project Runway fan. I think one of the reasons I like it so much is that all the contestants have a REAL talent - not just a TV persona (Santino was a waste of good air).
Having worked in the food service industry as a teen, Top Chef is my second choice guilty pleasure.
I have to admit that on both shows I’d like to slap the judges every now and then. They make an impossible challenge then berate the contestants for not doing what it would normally take weeks to do.

I’ve been enjoying Project Runway, but my real summer guilty pleasure has been Rock Star Supernova.

SURVIVOR is the greatest. The tribe has spoken.

Another Amazing Race and Project Runway fan here (PLEASE PLEASE vote off Jeffrey with the horrible neck tattoo and nasty superior attitude!).

But I have to admit also watching the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency now and again, only because she’s from my hometown and I knew her when she was about 8 years old. Her big sister was in my class and we were good friends throughout elementary and high school. I used to go over to her house to play when we were little and I was always creeped out by her father, so I totally believe every word she says about him in her book. Her mom was an angel, very quiet and shy. I could never understand how she put up with her brute of a husband. Anyway, I watch Janice now on TV and have to laugh at how she turned out :)

Project Runway here too! DISBELIEF that Allison was voted off. I know her one recycled outfit reeked, but come on! Kayne, Vincent and Angela were still there and were much more deserving of the ax.

Hell’s Kitchen is my second favorite and have to admit I’m enjoying Rockstar.

Boy am I glad for the anonymity of this forum. I’d never admit to this fascination with reality tv in public…lol!

PS…my top three prediction for Project Runway are Laura, Michael and, unfortunately, Jeffrey.

I am guessing that is the top three also…

they do have talent, and to see such imaginations…

what i like abiut ANTM, it shows how much work it takes to get that one picture in an ad, and what makeup, etc can do…that the girls are pretty, but it takes a village…

Another vote for Project Runway, ANTM and the apprentice (boy I was shocked to see that the Donald geve Carolyn the ax)
ldmom,

I agree with you about Allison getting voted off. I was happy to see Angela go because is she make one more rosette, I was going to scream. I am also waiting for jeffrey to get the boot but he won last week so we will have to wait it out one more week.

^OMG about those rosettes! Good Lord. But Angela’s Audrey Hepburn dress was gorgeous. I think she had to go, but Kayne and Vincent should have hit the bricks first.

Something was up with the Allison thing. Heidi was uncharacteristically nasty in her critique and send off. I know there is a contingency of people speaking out about Keith getting the boot for cheating and Allison was very close to Keith. I just wonder if something political in nature was afoot.

btw…the best line all season: Allison to Laura, who was geared up in actual jodhpurs and riding boots, before they left the apartment to find out their latest challenge…“Well I’m glad your wearing your riding outfit, in case it’s horses…”

Never heard of Project Runway. When/what station does it come on?

I’m so behind the times I’m still watching “Friends.”

Project Runway is on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. (PST) on Bravo. But they rerun the Wed. show at various times throughout the week. It’s good television if you like to see creative people under pressure. I’m not much into fashion, but I am frankly in awe of what they are able to produce in 24 hours. Same thing with the Top Chef program. I just find people who can design/sew and cook at that level to be really interesting and inspiring.

Re: project runway. I agree that the top three are likely to be Laura, Michael and either Jeffrey or Uli. I think Michael has the best shot to win because he is consistently creative with well made clothes. I personally like Laura’s clothes, and the judges are always commenting on how well tailored they are, but it seems as if she has a limited range in that so many of her outfits are the same basic dress style that she wears.

And I agree that it was too much already of Angela’s rosettes. She just didn’t know when to stop.

Just my opinion.

I don’t have a daughter so have zero fashion focus in the house but I am loving Project Runway. Did you see the gorgeous frocks they made out of supplies from gardening stores. My fave episode! For some reason, I love having life reduced to such challenges as having your Blouse and your skirt make a statement. It is fun to see people with talent produce things by hand. Michael is my pick for this season. What a gentleman and he has versatility.

I’m rooting for Michael too. I love Laura’s clothes and would wear them. But the contest is about being creative and forward-thinking. Laura is very Ralph Lauren and in the moment, which may (and should) hurt her. I swear that Michael Kors is already recruiting her for his shop though…lol!

Laura looked so soft and pretty after her makeup and hair for the jet setter clothes…and Angela, she always had these weird circles of fabric on her butt, like giant patches…

And Michael…those pants and shirt…very cool

And Jeffrey, that neck tattoo…that must have hurt…

In the “Mom” episode, Jeffrey’s mother explained how he was a drug addict for years and how proud she is of him now that he has turned his life around. He might have been high while getting the neck tattoo so perhaps it didn’t hurt. For me, it is hard to focus on his face and what he is saying without being distracted by the neck tattoo. Then again, I’m not a fan of tattoos. I’ve seen too many of them at the beach on older people who are no longer toned and trim.
