<p>Well, I’m only a junior, but this is what I find preferable so far:</p>
<p>.2,000-15,000 students
.Suburban/suburb/town location
.Professors do the teaching
.Internship opportunities
.Psychology programs
.Student interaction through discussions
.Small student-teacher ratio</p>
<p>Unfortunately the UC’s don’t provide too many of those aspects:/</p>
<ul>
<li>pretty architecture</li>
<li>history</li>
<li>natural surroundings (mountains, lakes, arboretums are a big plus)</li>
<li>small student-teacher ratio</li>
<li>tolerable weather</li>
<li>high standards </li>
<li>lots of study abroad opportunities</li>
</ul>
<p>Size doesn’t really matter. I’d probably be more comfortable at a small (1000-4000 students) school but I’d be practicing for the real world at a larger school.</p>
<p>my wants are few and simple: hot women, hot weather, hot football team.</p>

-Co-ed
-Big-ish (not small)
-Lots of opportunities available : )
-A school that studies hard parties hard
-Good teachers</p>
<p>What will happen if I go to an all-girl’s school in the middle of nowhere with a miniscule student body that’s uptight while going to every class taught by a TA? hmm, I wouldn’t be as happy. :P</p>
<p>I just want to go to this school to see this one person again, but I gave up on that plan since I won’t be happy if I did anyways.</p>
<p>More volunteer opportunities, CO-ED, quality education but easy grades, meet people who actually think</p>

<p>For me:</p>
<p>-BIG. I consider 20,000 smallish. I’d like 30k+. The more the merrier.
-Somewhat challenging, but not oppressive and stressful academics.
-Good Weather. Snow and cold sucks
-By the beach, like within an hour
-In a College town that is within 1 hour of a major city
-Laid back students
-Good Scholarships so COA is less than $15k
-Great football team and hot women.
-Co-ed. Going to a single sex high school is something I would never do again by choice.
-Beautiful campus, with a big quad area
-Big football stadium
-Active campus, with a range of activities and parties.
-Good for Social Science and Business
-Wide range of frats to choose from, but Greek life does not dominate
-Enough parking
-Somewhat balanced politics
-Cool RAs and cool administration
-Strong and passionate Alumni Base
-And a kick-@$$ job placement center that will land me a great job</p>

<p>Weather- I would love to experience snow. I live in California so I’m not exposed to it too frequently.</p>

<p>Yeah, lol I’m in Ohio right now, but going UM and NU would be the only team with decent football, women. Weather…not so much.</p>
<p>And Warts…I kind of am, UCSB, UCLA and other UCs seems to fit my criteria, but I’m OOS and spending 50k to go to a Cali public when the economy is like this is pretty stupid, IMO.</p>
<p>But USC is currently on my list, might add USF too.</p>
<p>Edit: And Warts, I would happily trade places with you. Ohio gets a lot of snow, and we usually get 3 or 4 snow days a year, so that is really nice.</p>
<p>Haha, well if you lived in California it would only cost you about $10,000 per year.</p>

<p>But I’m looking at schools in the South, places like Bama, FSU, South Carolina, Duke, Tulane. And of course some Northern schools.</p>
<p>-Small classes with lots of student teacher interaction
-Interested students. Not saying I want to have intellectual conversation ALL the time (in fact I would hate that) but I want kids who are actually interested and care about what they’re studying. There to learn, not just for a degree to go make money.
-A good study abroad program in the UK
-Good hockey team that people care about
-Good in history and philosophy
-Alumni connections
-Good looking women. I can’t lie and say this isn’t a factor, or I haven’t eliminated/added schools for this reason.</p>
<p>What would happen if I went to the wrong kind of school? Probably I would try to transfer, or at least do really well so I can go somewhere I like for law or grad school.</p>

<p>Beyond anything else, good academics.
Other than that : alumni network, not too big, cohesive identity, good polisci or business program, new england/west coast/midwest.</p>
